finding starters in the wild

I know we slightly got this with the friend safari, but i think starters should be catchable in the wild, in the anime we have seen ash catch many starter pokemon that were wild. Now i'm not saying put all the starters in one game, but i think maybe for ORAS as an example all the Hoenn starters should be catachable and then maybe another set of starters from a nearby region. i think sinnoh is closest but i'm not sure. This is unlikely but i would like to see it happen, what do people think?

I was actually thinking about this yesterday, how it's kinda weird you can't find the starters in the wild. I mean, if they're in the regional dex they should be living in the region, right? Except if they all died out and the professor has some sort of breeding center so they can give them to starting trainers...

I do think they should be available in the wild but they should be very rare, maybe even as rare as shinies, or only available in an area that you can only access after beating the champion. It should still be kinda hard to get the other starters or else the choice you make at the beginning of the game loses its importance.

I can see it happening Gen 7. I mean, Eevees were one-per-game, and now you can catch them in the wild.

I could see it happening in the postgame, myself. Currently, Friend Safari is the only place to get wild starters, and that's a postgame area.

I'd like them to be in some special area, like a garden thing. Like that Mansion in DPPt where you could catch eevees.

I haven't competitively breed any starters except the Gen I and VI starters because of the friend safari and I'm hoping ORAS will have more so I can get their hidden ability and them in special balls. I think now they've been added in the wild with their HAs in one game they should appear again in another game.

Well, they better. I want my Luxury ball HA Tepig.

This would be good actually, but I doubt this since starter Pokémon are in-game considered rare but outside of the context of the games they aren't because many are traded but when I traded in Pokémon Diamond in the GTS many wanted Piplup but luckily my main Pokémon in that game is Empoleon.

Well the starters are meant to be special Pokemon that you start out the game with, so of course you wouldn't find them normally. The Friend Safari is a special case, I don't think they'd simply make them random wild Pokemon, they'd either remain gifts or show up in some special distribution method.

I don't think it will ever happen, even with the Friend Safari present in X/Y. I think they did this so they could encourage trading between different players more. Maybe in a location only accessible through a distribution event it's possible or something like Friend Safari if it carries on into the next generation, but not likely in the main game itself.

I would love to see that in a game, as I find the Starters are always in regular Poke Balls to be so bland, so unoriginal, yet they're supposed to be special. And the anime has proven that wild Starters exist, so I would love to see that happen. And don't forget that Yellow did that to us (yes, I know it was based off the anime, but still, it allowed us to have all three in one game without trading). While I doubt it'll ever be a main playthrough thing, I could see it possibly as a post-game bonus area. Like the Friend Safari, but a bit different. Maybe, for example, depending on the FCs you have in your 3DS could determine a chance of what Starter could appear in a Friend Safari-like area in ORAS.

Let's say, hypothetically, in ORAS post-game, there is a Friend Safari. Going along with that, let's say that, depending on the last four digits of the FC, one of the three slots might be a wild Starter. Just for the sake of argument, let's say the final four digits of a FC is 0001. Let's say that combo is one of few that gives you the chance to catch a Turtwig as one of your three capture slots, even if it's not the same "type" as the rest of the Friend Safari. I know this is kinda complex, but have you seen how the games calculate such things like damage and shininess? Quite a complex bit of math, so it is possible to use FCs in an equation like that. It would take some serious programing, but it's possible.

But yes, I think that it should happen, but probably only in post-game, so it's like an incentive for wining the main story.

Second that. Couldn't they at least be in Premier Balls? Or, maybe, if there ever is a facility to re-ball your Pokemon, it may be found early game (like first-gym-city early) and the tutorial you're given on how to use it utilizes your starter Pokemon (or if not present, 1st party member).

I think in the anime or in the movie, Pokemon Starters are being breed and eventually it is being given to young Pokemon trainers as their first Pokemon.

But in the game, it weird that all starters(except for Eevee and Pikachu) are not catchable in the wild, or maybe, the island or the place of their habitat is inaccessible in the game. But yes, starters should be available in the wild as post game features.

Until the wonder trade thing, starters were hard to have and they were more important and precious for the trainers. But now they are very easy to get one and yes, you have the point that they are no longer rare for the trainers. That wouldn't differ too much if they put starters into the grasses. But that is not even necessary to have three of them since you can get via wonder trade.

Yes, but not everyone has access to wi-fi / internet connection / trading / stuff. And all the DS wi-fi is shut down now (just before the point i might have been able to use it). I have a method of getting all the starters. Start the game, trade with my handily available flatmate, restart and choose another starter. End up with all three, then restart and trade the extra starter back to him (hey, he doesn't mind), get all my starters back all growing at the same rate (because they are all outsiders). How much easier would it be if I could just obtain the other starters later? (As, say, a post-game reward like some of you have mentioned.)

XY did a good start with downplaying the starters from their ridiculously rare status. (now, if only they did the same with the event "mythical" pkmn...)
Since we know we're getting all the non-event pkmn between XY and ORAS, and since XY only offered the gen 1/6 starters, it's pretty much a safe bet that ORAS will give us all the gen 2-5 starters. I guess another Friend Safari like area would be the most likely option, but I wouldn't mind just shoving them in the wild as if they were any other pkmn.
