Source w/ trailer.

Warner Bros. Animation has released a brand new trailer for their upcoming "Batman: The Brave and The Bold" cartoon, along with the following description of the series. Check back with CBR later today for our complete report from the B:TB&TB panel!

Batman isn't going at it alone this time! From Warner Bros. Animation comes the latest interpretation of the classic Batman franchise. Our caped crusader is teamed up with heroes from across the DC Universe, delivering nonstop action and adventure with a touch of comic relief. Blue Beetle, Green Arrow, Aquaman and countless others will get a chance to uphold justice alongside Batman. Though still based in Gotham, Batman will frequently find himself outside city limits, facing situations that are both unfamiliar and exhilarating. With formidable foes around every corner, Batman will still rely on his stealth, resourcefulness and limitless supply of cool gadgets to bring justice home.

After watching the trailer...I just started laughing. I just don't know if it's because it's so good, or so bad. It seems to ride that fence between really cool and really silly. I definitely want to see more, though.

Blue Beetle's in it, that's enough for me.

Reminds me of the old Marvel Team-Up comic series that was, essentially, Spider-Man Team-Up (that actually came later). You'd see a character who, for most of his career was on his own, teaming up with darn near everybody (including, and I'm not joking, the cast of Saturday Night Live).

Though, really, while Batman is always painted as a loner...he IS one of the big three DC characters and, as such, has been a constant on JLA (and has lead the Outsiders a number of times). Plus...he always seems to have AT LEAST one partner.

Batman's painted as a loaner, but really he needs to be paired up with someone else or he goes off the deep end. That's why he has a huge supporting cast of sidekicks and partners. Dick Grayson, Barbra Gordon, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, Cassandra Cain, Bette Kane, Huntress, Damian Wayne . . . the list is pretty extensive. If anything, he has more sidekicks and partners than any other "solo" comic book hero, ever.

Ick. Might as well have Adam West voice it (this does not mean that I hate West-era Batman. I love it. I just wish DC would stop having this wild mood-swing between the awesome animated universe to what looks like some kid's flash movie on youtube). In fact, if it's SUPPOSED to be silly ... I say go all out and GET Adam West to take up the bat-cape again. It's not like he hasn't had cameos in the other animated universes before.

Actually, they're getting Diedrich Bader to voice Batman. And, if his more recent voice acting is any indication, he can COMPLETELY pull off an over-the-top serious voice that goes into that silly range.

Diedrich Bader also did Zeta in the Batman Beyond spinoff series, didn't he?

Apparently so. Oddly enough, he also voiced a character named "Zeta" in something called "The Zeta Project." I honestly doubt there's any other actor who's voiced two characters named for letters in the Greek alphabet (aside from Alpha and Omega, maybe).

They're the same character. The Zeta Project was a actually a spinoff of Batman Beyond about an assassin droid killing people in Gotham who wanted to turn good.

I'll try the first episode. It looks like it will either be really, really awesome, or the stupidest thing on television. Maybe it'll be so stupid, it'll be awesome.
