Holy shit at the picture with the tall buildings. Looks great.

Edit: The girl looks a bit naff however.

Looks awesome! I guess that's the girl player character that we see there? I want to see her Sugimori art or at least the big sprite... it's hard to make much from her little icon...

And let the madness of fandom increase!

So, this player character has a hat like always. BORING.

Thanks for these! By the way the coding is a bit messed up on the newspost because of the size of the pictures.

Hopefully these are real, as they look pretty good. They could definitely be improved upon but this is probably just a starting point.

The buildings look very nice as they actually have height to them giving a bit more realistic feeling. Maybe will be able to actually walk through the city!

*squints* Black hair, white cap, pink...Outfit.

She looks decent :p

wow, love the new battle layout :D. It all looks great!

Ranger still looks miles better graphically, and truthfully, that's rather dissapointing. Would it really kill 'em to at least use a proper background during a battle, for example? And they're still insisting on using those archaic looking 'ledges'? Blech.

However, the fact that we're actually able to see the whole of a pokemon's full back during battle is (perhaps foolishly) raising my hopes that we'll see some fully animated sprites. And that'd probably be enough to negate any negativity on my part. Don't get me wrong though, these are pretty exciting shots, but I'd been expecting Gamefreak to go the extra mile here.

Wow, looks epic. Judging from the 3D buildings and such, it might be a 3DS exclusive title. But the guys is running it from a DS Lite. The Battle screen is ugly:(, where are the Status Bars?

Guys, you seriously consider these awesome?
I'm usually positive about stuff, but from the so far, I am quite dissapointed...

I don't want to prejudge, but I see very little progress. This graphics angle was initially used in Diamond and Pearl, but was scrapped in favour of the classic one. Battle scenes seem hugely untouched, and while we don't know details, these screens seem to refer to the classic plot-concept; kid starts from town, gets starter, adventure.

God prove me wrong, but wasn't this supposed to be a fresh start?

Pokemon is not Pokemon without a hat. I would refuse to play this game if the character/s did not have a hat.

Diamond/PEarl/Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver all had 3D buildings. It doesn't need to be 3DS for that. Also it's been long confirmed to be a DS title, NOT a 3DS title. These games release this fall. 3DS releases next March. Big gap there.

Also you do not know how much I am praising Arceus/Flying Spaghetti Monster/Palutena/Zeus/Sephiroth/etc that these games are NOT 3D and still use 2D sprites. I would absolutely DESPISE for the main series Pokemon games to be 3D.

Ooh, I like the new in-battle screen. And yays for official Zorua and Zoroark sprites! :D

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude.

Combo PokéCenter/Marts? I'm all for that. And it looks like maybe movement might not be grid-locked.

And to the people whining about the graphics: these are close-up, still shots of pixels. At least wait until you see the game in motion (which might very well happen in about 12 hours on PS) before ragging on it.

Also: 20 bucks says those battle shots are of the very beginning when the Pokémon are released. Chances are good the main battle screen'll look a bit more traditional.

Looks like they've intergrated the Poké Marts into the Pokémon Centres. That's convienient!

The overworld sprites look taller too. I'm all for more details.

I for one am glad for these graphics. I'm not whining. I would not like a major change in graphical style. Anything other than 2D sprites for a main series game just plain wouldn't fit.

And the female player character has a hat, so I can take comfort in I will be able to play this game even if the male character sucks, as I require a hat to be able to play the game. Not that retarded ass thing Brendan has. I had to play as May in Gen 3, and that itself was barely tolerable since she still didn't have a true hat, only something that had to pass as being kind of close. never was able to tolerate sitting through the whole game though.

Looks like all the in battle information will be on the bottom screen now then, hopefully that means that all pokemon will have a full backsprite now. Yay.

That girl kind of looks like Dawn. :/ Ponytail, baseball cap, black and pink.
WHERE BE MY CUSTOMIZATION GAMEFREAK

Other than that I'm quite satisfied. I like the depth they've added to the buildings. It kind of reminds me of The World Ends With You, only with chibified sprites.

And I really like the new battle screen. Hooray for complete backsprites! And the distant city in the background is a nice touch.
