The main point of interest is "Galatic Grunt" isn't all caps.
 
I wish NP was published closer to me so I would get it sooner... :/

Please let the all caps thing be demolished! I've always hated that, even during the first gen.
 
That would fix the problem people have suggested with PorygonZ also.

I just noticed NP just gave away 5 new Pokemon.
 
I suppose it would be alright since the names aren't on the screen, but... Does this mean, with the translation "done" that we'll suddenly get an onslaught of english names? Where's Serebii?
 
I think Serebii is asleep at this time, but I wouldn't be worried. Although all 5 of those pokes I would like to know the English name of. Roselia's pre-evo for different reasons. Roselia was directly translated, but in the instance of this one, I don't see it making a lot of sense, but who knows.
 
No caps? WIN. The caps thing always bugged the hell out of me.
 
It also looks like they're using the font from Emerald.

Is it just me, though, or do NP's pictures look...sparse? There's a lot of white space between the concept art, and only three screenshots for such a highly anticipated game. They probably are keeping a tight leash on them for some reason...-_-
 
And suddenly, the most exciting piece of news is the demolition of all caps on trainers' names.

I join in the joy. It was part of the reason why I liked Digimon World DS so much, the fact that everyone's names weren't in all caps so I could tap in my Digimon's names properly without them looking bizarre against the NPCs' names. God, D/P is going to rock. =D
 
Well, let's hope that it's the deletion of all caps for everything not just the trainers.

I know what you mean^ because I did that with my Pokemon at first and then when Squirtle evolved into Warturtle it was still Squirtle and I hadn't reached the name changer yet.

I hadn't thought of that. : / hahahahah

But, finally D/P scans! Yes! It's getting so close . . PUSA only needs to release the last BF episode name now . .
 
I really have never cared about the all caps thing, I just make my name all caps and it fits fine. In fact I feel like this change actually takes a little of the charm away from the game, it'll just feel a little less like pokemon.

Anyway, reading the thing on the side reveals a little info too, the professor's name: Professor Rowan and the name of the Poketch: Poketch. Weird, I always thought that "Poketch" was either a poorly translated Japanese name or a typo for "Poketech". Considering "tch" isn't even a word, it's going to be real fun trying to figure out how to pronounce that. :p

Edit: Did anyone else notice the screen also only says "Galactic Grunt and Galactic Grunt!" sans "would like/want to battle
 
We already knew Pokétch and Professor Rowan.

And it's Poké[wa]tch, since it's a watch.
 
Deletion of all-caps is like, a merciless slaughter of the nostalgia and minor humor it provided. (eg while people still understand what you're mocking when you say "MARK got a SANDWICH", they sure won't in a few years :<)

Well, I'm clearly overexaggerating, but am I the only one who will miss it?
 
It's a cliche in all RPGs, it's hardly going to die out just 'cause Pokemon finally got rid of it.

Yeah, that was part of the exaggeration, but Pokémon was one of the few RPG series I've played and enjoyed. I'll miss it since I won't see it much anymore!
 
So Nintendo's finally learned how to turn Caps Lock off...

Wow. Those Galactic uniforms are so not cosplay friendly. It's almost like Game Freak didn't want people to start a new sub-branch of evil team cosplay...(and if there are TG cosplayers, I'm not looking forward to seeing them... seriously, those are the dorkiest outfits I've ever seen.)

That's always been one of my favorite things about the Pokemon games, how they emphasized nearly everything by having it in all caps.



I especially liked how they put all the trainers' names in all caps, because back when R/B/Y first came out, the name I chose for all 3 versions was indeed: ASH

I love the fact that it was actually a default name. ^_^

Well, I'd have to say you're in the minority here, Lisa...

Though I suppose it is kinda unusual, now that I think about it. It's definitely going to take some adjusting to. Still, it's a move in the right direction. (Wonders if anyone's going to start "Save Our Character Capitalization" or something.)
*(That wasn't intended as an insult, by the way. Especially given I'm leadership in that other "Save Our". ^^)
