Well the day has finally come and passed. What does everyone think so far? I didn't have a whole lot of time to play yesterday but I did make it to the first gym before putting the game down.

My favorite thing so far is the amount of Pokemon you can catch right from the beginning and the diversity of types as well.

The ranch is a cool looking place, especially with the mareep's that roam around.

What does everyone else think so far?

I've had several "D'AWWWWWW" moments from mentions of the prequels already (thanks to regular character dialogue as well as the Memory Link), and I'm just about to go for my second badge.

I like the variety of Pokemon available in the beginning, it's enough to make a decent preliminary team. The fact that the first gym doesn't matter with what starter you pick is refreshing. It's a far cry from Gen I with Charmander or Pikachu, or even Johto with Chikorita.

Because I've avoided most plot spoilers, I can't wait to see how everything unfolds!

I've already played through the Japanese version, but it's nice to go through understanding everything! My sister and I started our games at the same time, and we're having a blast with it! It's a shame we have to choose between studying or playing B2W2, rofls xD; Of all years to be a college student.

First impressions met expectations. As soon as I got my White 2 and Black 2, and jumped right into White 2. So far, I beat the third gym and caught the event Braviary (which I was hoping to catch). I'm currently training/treasure hunting in Relic Pass, but in terms of actual gameplay distance, I'm at Desert Resort. I'm trying to get my team up to Level 30. Currently I have a Pignite, Lucario, Leavanny, Braviary, and Trapinch.

Moving on from that, I was quite pleased with the available Pokemon at the start. Decent diversity, fair levels, and the fact that the first gym didn't really care much about your starter was a much-needed change. It was getting tiresome to have to always modify your team just for the first badge, and even then it could go sour, especially with the lack of useful Pokemon early on. B2W2 sure remedied that. It was nice for a change just to take your starter and battle the gym leader straightforwardly, no gimmicks, no outside help (I'm lookin' at you, Elemental Monkey Trio), just a smooth, simple battle of wits and strength. On that note, the remixed gym leader battle music is AWESOME! It's almost too catchy, and yet it can easily describe the situation. I could listen to it all day.

I have to admit, PokeStar Studios is actually fairly entertaining. If anyone hasn't notice, talking to a Backpacker in the theater after each of your movie debuts, and he'll give you 5 Lemonades for each movie shot. That really is nice, getting a bunch of free items just for acting. There are probably other people later on who will give you other items, so I may spend some time playing around in PokeStar Studios just for kicks and free items. Hey, I said I was a treasure hunter, right? *chuckles*

In terms of Gym designs, they are getting pretty creative. Cheren's was pretty bland, but since he just started, I'll let it sly. Roxie's music stage/gym was quite entertaining, and very befitting for a Poison expert, the dark, dank feel of the rock club gave a very good poison-ish vibe to it. As for Burgh's, those cocoons were a little... creepy. When you walked up to one, it sucked you up and you were transported like a lump in a snake's throat to the next area. I have no problem with bugs or cocoons, but it did creep me out a bit. Burgh's final room was very... bright and colorful, to say the least.

Other areas, the Sewers and Relic Path are fun places, although I do get tired of Zubat and Rattata pretty quickly. And here we thought we were rid of them. Relic Path, even in the first part, has a lot to explore, and I love seeing those dust clouds swirl. Pokemon or Treasure, who knows? All I care is checking it out and reaping the rewards. The Ranch was a lot of fun, with lots of cute Mareeps running around, and a good selection of Pokemon to choose from as well.

Overall, it has met my expectations, and I look forward to what lies ahead.

Until I got to the first gym, I was a little underwhelmed. As soon a I stepped into it though, I was just kind of hit by a wae of joy. Since then, and now I'm in Virbank, it's just been awesome! Everything I wanted and more!

I got White 2 yesterday, and already I'm in Nimbasa City. I actually really like it so far; Roxie's gym is my favorite up to now. Though, I have no idea where I'm supposed to get a Fire Stone, since I have a Growlithe. Having N's Pokemon as able to be caught now is really cool as well, since they level up just like a traded Pokemon would. I've caught all the ones you can find in the Desert Resort already.

I think the game is even better than BW so far! I'm in Virbank City training for my second gym badge. :)

Loving what I've played so far (just got to Nimbasa City).

However, I can already tell I will hate the Pokémon Breeder on Route 4

Pretty cool but I miss my old team. Got a bit too used to them annihilating everything. Up to the third gym and I have to say I love Pokéstar Studios just as much as I thought I would. It's such a stupid gimmick that it wraps right back around to being fun and creative. And with the early addition of Magnemite, I am definitely loving the game so far.

I hate to admit it, but I'm abusing my Genesect.

It is still cool how they had an event for the game on launch day. Probably should have waited, but it comes in handy when in a tight spot.

I am really sad to see the desert ruins buried. I loved exploring it.

looked ahead in the strategy guide... Whew, at least I can explore part of the buried sections (including Volcorona)

I started with Snivy and traded over eggs containing a charmander, seviper, and bagon, and atm I just defeated Clay, this game has a smooth plot so far with involved characters (I'm so happy to actually see Gym leaders actually leaving their gyms to address problems, something that always bothered me in Gen 1 and 2 )

I just kind of stood there in dumb shock as soon as Elesa's remixed Gym Leader music started *D*

I'm wishing I had been aware of the Memory Link bit. I don't know how I missed it. D'oh!

I loved the ranch, too, along with the "Habitat" feature on the Pokédex. It's so nice to know that I've found all of the Pokémon in an area without resorting to a strategy guide for every new route and area.

I'm getting ready to go after my third badge and I can honestly say, I am loving this game.

The fact that you can get some nice, powerful critters early on, the fact that you don't have to worry about type match-ups in the very beginning, the fact that you have a chance to get a level 5 Riolu in the very beginning are making this game so full of win it hurts. Add to this you can get a Genesect at level 15 and can trade over some of your team just after you get the first badge....

Oh yeah, this is epic. I am in love. :crush:
However, I can already tell I will hate the Pokémon Breeder on Route 4
Oddly enough, I love bugging her for a battle; I've been abusing the heck outta her for both money and EXP. A cheap chance to level up my team and get sweet, sweet cash? Oh yes, please. Hey, I need all the money I can get over here! XD

Finally got a chance to play, but I stopped at the first Gym, because I had to take care of some IRL issues. So far, I am enjoying it. Not much has changed, I don't think, from the previous games, but to know that classic pokémon are available so early in the game makes me happy. This was definitely worth the wait.

Got it today! (as i'm in th UK) And my first impression is that the game is much harder than the previous versions. I used to be able to get through the first 3 gyms in under 4 hours, and i've played 5 hours, and i'm only just after the first gym. I believe that its because the range of pokemon levels (wild ones) jumps from lv 3-5 up to lv 10-13 in one route. still love the game though. and the medals is such a great addition.

I'm still not very far in, but I like them a lot so far! It seems like a lot of the problems in B/W were addressed, and the game, thankfully, isn't just a redo. My initial impression is way better than I thought it would be, and this is the most fun I've had playing Pokémon in a while. I'm taking it slow this time to make it last.

Its good I just got black a month ago and havent even finished that lol in black im only on elesa and ive started playing black 2 it is a good game with the battle things redone just a bit so its not a direct copy from BW my current party is: Mareep, Lillipup, Riolu, and Oshawott

It's a little slow at times when introducing things, though I guess this is to steer it away froim the stereotypical prequel that relies entirely on the knowledge of the original.

I'm not too far in but so far this game is just mind blowingly good. It fixes a lot of problems in past games however the one thing I dislike is the lack of a decent Pokemon to learn Fly early in the game as well as Tepig being seemingly the best starter by a lot.

However, I can already tell I will hate the Pokémon Breeder on Route 4

I've been playing every chance I get in my spare time and just made it to this point. I'm already annoyed by her, especially when I just want to go back to Castelia City to heal up real quick. I have learned that you can avoid her challenges if you stay to the left of that path(like 4, "hexes" to the left of her) which is cool if you remember, but if you get in a hurry and forget, BAM! :( I just want to heal my pokes... T_T

I kinda under-estimated the battle with Cheren, thinking my level 13 Riolu was sufficient. Sadly, I was mistaken and had to re-think my strategies a bit. It was kinda re-freshing really. Almost has a Dragon Quest quality level of thinking out strategy and what not.

Overall, I'm really enjoying this game. Best Pokemon Ever? Maybe... I'll reserve that judgement for when I've finally beaten the Champion and seen the credits. As of right now, it's really close to being just that.
