Trailer.

The first of the many upcoming anime-to-live-action movies. So...yeah...there it is. From the makers of the Matrix Trilogy.
 
They did a nice job finding actors that looked like the characters in the cartoon. I just hope don't do the same thing to Speed Racer that happened to Rollerball.
 
I think they got Speed Racer confused with F-Zero, but it still looks OK.
 
My hopes for this movie just jumped by a sizable margin. I agree with Zeta about the races looking very F-Zero-like. If they just don't murder the story, I daresay this movie could actually be good.
 
Weren't they making a Samurai Girl movie, too?

(Although it's hard to make a movie of a manga they NEVER FINISHED.)
 
Flashy, stylistic, but it looks almost *too* cartoony. I mean, I know it's based on a cartoon and all, but if you're going to do it live-action, there's ways of going about it.
 
The CGI cars look like absolute shit. I really hope some of that is unfinished footage.

Also, Susan Serandon as the mom cracks me up for some reason.

Though the original plan was like in, 1992. o_O

And what's with WB lately being associated with all these old-school anime live-action adaptations?
