It's just a single image of Optimus Prime. But it says so much. Because even robots know the horrors...of anorexia. And...massive chin syndrome.

Ok, why did they have that animator do this? His style is unsuitable for this.

EDIT: Nvm. It's some lame message for the kiddies show. That's even lamer than the artwork.

From what I recall of the early news, it's being done by the same people that did Teen Titans. So they're thinking that that success can carry over to a property that they've MASSIVELY mistreated since its return (between CONSTANTLY reverting to reruns and then moving the show to 5 AM before the entire series was shown, and NEVER re-airing the final episodes, it's not really a surprise that they're doing this). I just pray that Megatron doesn't look like Deathstroke.

Wow. That is some of the worst art I've ever seen. It looks like an 8-year old drew it.

Ahh! My childhood! It screams. Brad. Never. Show. Ugly. Anorexic. Transformers. AGAIN! Holy....

New details.

Apparently it's coming in 2008. And is an "eye-popping 2-D animated series is a new twist on the original high-octane, animated action-adventure series with new characters alongside legends such as Optimus Prime and Megatron."

Each episode will present a standalone storyline featuring everyday heroes who do good deeds that triumph over evil.

...This sounds like it's made for pre-schoolers. Oh, and it's made by Cartoon Network Studios. So instead of the people making Teen Titans, it's the people making Billy and Mandy. But the characters ARE designed by the lead designer from Teen Titans.

"The animation style that Cartoon Network has developed really brings the lore and characters of the Transformers franchise alive in a way that has never been seen through animation."

I think there's reason it's never been seen that way.

Set on Earth in the near future in Detroit, the alien Transformers are thrust into a world populated by humans and automatons.

What the...DETROIT?

As visitors to Earth, the Transformers--Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Prowl, Bulkhead and Ratchet--work in the human world, interacting with the 'natives' in exciting and humorous ways. "Transformers Animated" has been created to showcase the heroic Autobots working together to battle the evil Decepticons and save Earth with kid-relatable plot lines filled with humor, distinctive character personalities, and dynamic action.

"And save Earth with kid-relatable plot lines." Shoot me now.

Hasbro and HPG, its licensing division, will expand the action-packed "Transformers Animated" series through toys, games, licensed merchandise and promotions around the world.

...I miss the good old days. Where they designed the toys THEN the cartoon.

If there was a way to kill this franchise, I think this is it. If the movie doesn't do it first, that is. A lot of TFers are dying from the character designs alone.

Then again, alot of CN shows sounded horrible when read but I found to be rather enticing once I watched them...

And the fact that I rather like CN's programming still...hell, I'll admit I actually enjoy Class of 3000.

Billy and Mandy rocks.

Animation style is horrible for a mecha show, though.

The funny thing is that the movie and the cartoon series both are aimed at completely different audiences, and NEITHER is the collector fanbase who end up buying a good chunk of the product, going to the conventions, and otherwise being the big supporters. Though, I will admit, while the vast majority of the initial fan reaction was against the designs, they seem to have turned around. But there are still people who think the plot will be HORRIFIC and will doom the franchise.

This could very well end up being really good. But, as is, it sounds like any random Cartoon Network series. Only with robots instead of little kids or animals. While a few of the series that Cartoon Network creates aren't bad, the vast majority lack any sort of...depth. They're fine for a little entertainment, but the Transformers franchise has increasingly gotten more depth to it. This...this is a huge step back. It's not even Transformers. It's Go-Bots. And I will NOT see Transformers overtaken by Rock Lords.

Good. Gravy. I have two words for the kids who are going to grow up watching that crap. Held back. Repeating the third grade. Low Standardized test scores.

Okay, So I had to channel Strong Bad to properly voice my opnion of this latest umm...fiasco? train wreck?

I honestly can't believe they're gonna kill the franchise by doing Transformers: Anorexia. Save thw world with kid relatable plotlines. Eh...so much for the blowing up the ocean plotlines from the 80s. Those at least made sense.

How do you save the world and make it relatable to the littlest, tiniest tykes? N-Never mind. I don't want to know.

"Optimus Prime faces a new horror...acne! Will Optimus Prime figure out in time that the true Spark of Primus lies on the inside before Megatron destroys the city?"

Transformers: Animated. The first poster. Showing Optimus and friends. All I can think is "Go, go, Go-Bots." These look like the Go-Bots toys that Hasbro released not long ago for 3 year olds. With no pointy ends. All curves.

That poster makes me think "This would rock if it was scripted like the Clone Wars", but I know that is not going to happen.

Is that...Bumblebee, Hound, Ratchet and Wreck-Gar? Yeah. It does remind me of Go-Bots.

We need more Teen Titans clones! We don't have enough. Just Legion of Superheroes, Loonatics, Spider-Man, Wolverine (and the X-men) . . .

And I didn't think Teen Titans was that good to begin with!

Owie... I think I just blew a gasket...

I'm assuming this heap is what became of the "Transformers Heroes" I was hearing about last year?

Will there be ANY cartoon based on a long-standing, honored franchise that doesn't suck this year?

Yes, this is indeed Tranformers Heroes, as it was known as...earlier.

And the names of the Autobots pictured? Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Prowl, Ratchet, and Bulkhead. While none of them are specifically named, it's safe to assume that Optimus, Bumblebee and Ratchet are all obvious. Which leaves Bulkhead and Prowl. And...unless they're mentally imbalanced and think naming a motorcycle "Bulkhead" is a good idea...I think it's safe to assume that Bulkhead's the tank. Should be fun. Or horribly scarring.
