First Official Legion of Super-Heroes Cartoon Image

Well, Teen Titans looked ugly in their first image, but look better in the show.

Nah, I think Teen Titans looks alright. It certainly got the "anime style" down better than any other show that tried it (I'm looking at you, Totall Spies).

The Legion cartoon is shaping up to be crap, I think. They're not really drawing from the comics, it looks like, so much as they're just trying to do Teen Titans II. The Legionaires they've picked out and the designs they've given them seems to have the express purpose of corresponding to the Teen Titans (LL=Robin, Brainiac=Beast Boy, SG=Starfire, PG=Raven, Timberwolf=Cyborg), with Superboy thrown in.

"We want to concentrate more on in-house projects." More likely they didn't want Pokemon to show how painfully obvious it is that WB's animations teams are getting worse. I think JLU is about only thing they make anymore that's of noteworthy quality.

And JLU is coming to an end...sometime soon. Can't remember when the last ep airs, but I know it's in May.

But don't worry folks, while the DC toons may be coming down to Legion of Super-Heroes, Marvel's gearing up Fantastic Four, Wolverine and the X-Men, and a few others that will air on Cartoon Network. Of course, if those first image of Fantastic Four are any indication, this MIGHT just be the end of the good comics-based cartoons.

I'm not complaining about the plot. I'm complaining about the design. Especially when Bouncing Boy and Brainiac 5 starred in a JLU episode and they had much better designs than this.

Xiaolin Showdow is pretty good too, and so was Teen Titans. And the Batman isn't that bad either.

But Johnny Test and Loonatics makes "Scuffle of Ledgends" look like Spirited Away.

Pokemon still blows XS, TT, and TB clear out of the water.

And I was hoping the JLU team would be making this. The people with us ever since the Batman and Superman series. What I grew up watching on the WB and CN. Instead we get Brainiac 5 looking like a deformed Sectoid with hair.
