I have had a few absences from the forum recently but I have been active for the most part. However since I've been mostly just reading I don't feel like I've been active. So I'm going to attempt to contribute more hence why I'm posting this thread.

Random babble aside, we all started as shippers somehow and this thread is intended to share that history. Tell us the first ship you liked and the first Pokemon ship if it differs from your overall one.

I'm not sure of my first ship. I think I've always been a shipper but subconciously. Though since I've been coming to Pokemon forums and have discovered the term 'shipping' and been exposed to an infinite number of them I think my shipping has increased. I tend to pair people in most things I watch, even old shows I never did so in before. Sometimes it's annoying because I might not have shipped the characters if I hadn't learned so much about shipping. Second babble aside, my first Pokemon ship was Pokeshipping. Though at the time I started supporting it I wasn't aware of its name.

Well, if you define shipping as simply believing two characters are a couple, it'd be Pokeshipping. If you define shipping as shipping in an online community, I'd say...maybe Colosseumshipping?

I believed in Pokeshipping when I started watching the series, about 8 years ago, partially because it had tons of evidence, partially because 4Kids pushed it forward like it was a fact. About 6 years ago, when Advance started airing, I never really saw any blatant Advanceshipping hints, but that's getting off topic.

Back during the days when I wasn't on the internet, I never really took interest in shippings. I just had crushes on the characters. But when I first came into the Pokemon fandom, my two were Pokeshipping and Neoshipping because at the time my passion for Misty and Cassidy were HIGH to the point that I'd constantly draw fanart. However, my Pokeshipping art was rather interesting, compared to most of the sappy crap you find on the internet. In some pictures Ash was being overpowered by femeMisty aka a sitcom situation.

but come to think of it, before I came onto the internet, I kinda liked the idea of Ash and Misty being good friends. In one work I even wrote them as long lost brother and sister (although the canon was really wacky and the writing was poor)

I've been pairing characters in various TV shows and books since I was around 7, I guess, because I vividly remember pairing the Pink ranger (Kimberly) with the White/Green ranger (Tommy) on Power Rangers. And then, once I got into Pokemon, which was at age 11, I started liking the idea of Ash and Misty as a pairing, and then around 12 or 13 I became pretty obsessed with the idea. Although, admittedly, I'm not so much into it now, as I've grown to become way more obsessed with both Advance and Pearlshipping.

My first ship was (and still is) Advanceshipping; watching the anime, it just seemed right to me. I support several other ships too; Alto- and Pearl- also from the anime, and also Abilityshipping (although in that case, I read about it on Bulbapedia and decided that I liked it long before I watched the episodes).

Like most people: Pokeshipping, it just seemed right to my little-girl self during the Kanto arc, and I still support it.

Pokeshipping was my first Pokemon shipping. Seemed right to me also, but now I've grown out of it..

My first Pokémon ship was Altoshipping. I think it just came out of watching Pokémon Heroes and thinking there was something to how Latias was with Ash...and that led to a fic, which was fairly horrible, but writing that made me discover more sites and the term "shipping", which made me start shipping a lot more. I was somewhat inclined towards Pokéshipping and Contestshipping to start with...all of which I've grown out of now. I think I was just going along with whatever seemed popular at the time. ^^;

As for my first non-Pokémon ship...I only started shipping outside of Pokémon after I'd started shipping *in* Pokémon, but I think being introduced to the concept of shipping gave me a lot of pairings in other things I never would have thought of otherwise. =3

Hmm, my first shipping? I think it had to be Hoennshipping... and then Advanceshipping and and even Contestshipping... o.o;;

I'm pretty much biased when my favorite character's in it... so yeah, you can guess, May is my very first favorite character in Pokemon hence why I also liked Hoennshipping... XD

My first ship was Pokeshipping, though I'm not as interested in it as I used to be either...

FemmeGymshipping for me. Yes you read right.

I started getting into the Pokemon fandom when I was 14, which ironically was the same time that I started feeling bicurious and as a result, more into yuri pairings. As I was... and still am, in a sense... more into the games than the anime I was happily playing Blue and thought that Erika and Sabrina would make a good couple, cause Erika is Sabrina's opposite and Sabrina has the "honour" of being the first character I loved. FemmeGymshipping was my OTP for ages and I wrote about it a lot too... now I prefer Sabrina with Lucy. *waves PsiLuckshipping flag* Don't really have an OTP for Erika but I still prefer her with women.

Aishashipping (( Persian x Mewtwo )) was the first Pokemon x Pokemon shipping I liked, thanks to having both of them on my very first Pokemon team. Then that quickly died for about five different others all at once... Hydrophobiashipping, Alteredshipping, Malvadoshipping, Strangeshipping and Boltbeamshipping. Endureshipping as well, I suppose. ;P

My very firstest ship in the whole wide world, when I was but a wee chillun... was Mistofelees/Victoria. From Cats.

Don't laugh. :(

I still think it's cute. Even though, looking back at my old Cats video, the guy playing Mistofelees was quite clearly gay. But I swear he was pretending with all his might to be attracted to the little white ballet cat, bless him.

My first Pokemon ship was Rocketshipping. I was watching the one in Kanto where they take the Pokemon exam and one of the answers was "A Jigglypuff seen from above". I missed the first five minutes and had NOT A CLUE what was going on, certainly not why those two strange people were wearing disguises to sneak into a public exam... But when Jessie got expelled, James clenched his fists in that sweet trying-to-be-manly way of his and said, "I'll just have to do my best for her!!". And I went: "heh. :D"

Haha, my first was a Cats ship, too, though it was Tugger/Misto. XD And I was a "wee chillun" as well. Guess I jumped onto the slash shipping thing from the start. Though it was pretty much simultaneous with me shipping Electra/Etcetera.

As for pokemon ships, I'd say Krazyshipping. I figured, since it was kinda pushed in the dub, that Pokeshipping was legit, but I never supported it because I never really cared. I liked Gymshipping early on, as well, but it's been Blueshipping for quite a while now.

Bombalurina/Demeter 4EVA! ;)

Pokeshipping was my first, even though I wasn't really involved on the internet when I was younger.

I'm pretty sure my first here was Palletshipping, or maybe I only remember that more diversely because I couldn't find anything vaguely Jimshippy (except once...and I can't even go back to it 'cuz drag quickly became Not My Thing, even with James).

...My first 'ship ever was...I'm pretty sure it was Voltron related (ironic that my 'shipping starts with an anime). No, I'm positive it was, but I can't remember if I was all for Lance/Allura, Keith/Allura, or Lance/Farla. But on the basis I can't remember clearly, the earliest 'ship I can definitively say I was in love with (and still am) was Raphael/Mona Lisa from TMNT.

What? Mario/Peach and Zelda/Link were just there. D: You can't 'ship what's there, duh. *tells you so much about her childhood era*

I never was really a pairing person when the show first aired. It was when I had the diverse freedom of the internet that I started to romance the characters. Unfortunately, I was never a PokeShipper. I actually STARTED with PalletShipping. I kid you not. Ironically, it wasn't slash to me: I started shipping them because I read a fanfiction where Gary was a girl, and this girl!Gary had feelings for Ash. I was so young and naive that I thought it was true. Naturally, I found out that it wasn't, but the pairing stuck. D: Is that not the weirdest thing you've ever heard? I feel kinda bad for starting out that way.
