Losing to the first Gym? They're making Satoshi's first Gym this season's loss? That's just embaressing.

Also - wouldn't it be weird if Hikari got Pikaclone #4?

o.o He lost to the first gym leader? And Hyouta's headbutt dino evolved? Fascinating. Shinji will have all that much more reason to look at Ash with disdain. Also, someone is trying to catch Pachirisu? It's probably Hikari, which who knows what madcap plots will ensue with two cheeked Electrics on the screen.

He lost his first gym battles in Kanto and Hoenn too. He's probably used to it by now.

The gym he lost to at the beginning of AG was not the first gym, though. It was technically the first gym loss in Hoenn, yes. He was a beginner when he fought Brock, and only won by a fluke as many people know. I see your point, though. If I am not mistaken, Ash has encountered nothing but losses ever since he set foot in Sinnoh. This region is brutal.

The battle with Norman was an unofficial battle, at any rate. Even if Ash won Norman wasn't going to give him a badge because he only had one Pokemon at the time.

LOL, we're spending 4 episodes at the first Gym. When was the last time they did this?

It'd be funny if Satoshi caught Pachirisu, I'd imagine what people's reactions would be!

This'll be the first electric Pokémon owned by a main character that isn't Pikachu. Even if it is the region's Pikaclone, I still see this as a good thing.

Ash hasn't had a good first-time victory since the Battle Palace.

The lack of cute Pokemon in Shinou is why they probably gave Hikari the 4th gen Pikachu clone. Meh, I never liked that Pokemon to begin with.

At least Plusle/Minun thankfully were never given to any main characters.

4 episodes at a Gym, or 4 random fillers....

Yeah, I'm glad the writers are giving Hyouta alot of screentime. He's sexy.

Hikari getting Pachirisu to balance her team brings up the question: if there aren't that many Fire-types in Sinnoh, how will Ash balance his own team like he has in the past? Will he get some old Pokémon? Bring... back... Cyndaquil?

Having said that, hearing that we're going to get more gym-time and less filler time (and there had BETTER be less filler), Sinnoh could still last a while.

Just no season-long forest walks. That's what killed Johto for me.

Eh, the writers are still doing the same pacing of about 15 or so episodes between each Gym. I'm sure we'll get bogged down with filler eventually, the only reason we haven't so far is the writers are still too busy setting up the main characters teams.

Once they're finished with all these early captures/evo's, there's really no choice but to make filler. I also really doubt we'll be spending four eps at EVERY Gym, that would be pointless since Ash is most likely going to beat many on his first try.

Pachirisu would be interesting because we'd get to see Electric-types featured in contests. Which would be pretty cool. Even if it is a Pikaclone, it'd be nice for there to be another Electric type owned by a main character.

At least Plusle/Minun thankfully were never given to any main characters.

Every single other supporting character seemed to have them though.

First of all, there is no doubt that the episode title refers to Hikari. What doesn't come across in the translation of "getto de..... daijoubu!?", "daijoubu" ("ok," "fine") being Hikari's catchphrase.

However, there is something off about a supposed Pachirisu capture. The question mark in the title is the first clue. Also, in the series opening, a Pachirisu is seen with other wild forest Pokemon. It would seem odd to have a wild Pachirisu and one later in the intro that belongs to Hikari.

A) I already predicted about 3, maybe more, weeks ago that Ash would lose the first gym battle - first from the fact that we were still there after three episodes, and then after seeing the last preview. No big surprise and it should make for interesting watching (and should hopefully be the last instance of rematching till much later in the series)

B) Pachirisu! :D Though I have to doubt if it will actually be caught. Considering that it's more or less an unwritten rule that NO-ONE's allowed to have an electric type, 'cause it would overshadow Pikachu.
