FLAVOR TEXT
  • Fissure: "The user opens up a fissure in the ground and drops the target in. The target instantly faints if it hits."
  • Horn Drill: "The user stabs the target with a horn that rotates like a drill. If it hits, the target faints instantly."
  • Guillotine: "A vicious, tearing attack with big pincers. The target will faint instantly if this attack hits."

THE FACTS
  • Effect of each: One-hit knockout.
  • Base PP of each: 5
  • Accuracy of each: (User's level-Target's level) + 30%
  • If used against a Pokemon with Sturdy or a Focus Sash, the target will be left with 1 HP

SO...
  • Which one has the best flavortext?
  • Which one has the best name?
  • Which one has the best animation?
  • Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?
  • Which one is your favorite?

  • Which one has the best flavortext?

Sheer Cold. A blast of absolute-zero cold? Sounds very deadly, although, as a more mundane option, Guillotine is for me a close second.

  • Which one has the best name?

Guillotine. Simple and sound, yet it embodies the effect of the attack very well.

  • Which one has the best animation?

Sheer Cool-- err, I mean, Sheer Cold.

  • Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?

Sheer Cold. Even though Horn Drill and Guillotine are Normal (my favourite type), no Normal-type Pokémon learns these moves, so my vote goes for the attack which includes many Ice-Pokémon, who tend to be my favourites as it is my second favourite type. (not counting Gen I)

  • Which one is your favorite?

I'm more of a Sheer Cold person, so it gets my vote.

Which one has the best flavortext?
Horn Drill. Because this drill is the drill the will pierce the Heavens!
Which one has the best name?
I think Fissure has a good name, and it sounds pretty cool.
Which one has the best animation?
Horn Drill and Guillotine don't look like overkill to me, but Horn Drill looks nicer.
Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?
I'd say Sheer Cold, because Articuno can learn it and Mind Reader.
Which one is your favorite?
Horn Drill. For the reason stated in the first point.

Which one has the best flavortext?
Probably Sheer Cold. The absolute zero cold drives the point of it being deadly. Guillotine's description makes it sound as deadly as the name suggests though.

Which one has the best name?
Guillotine by far. Simple and fearful. Drives the point of insta-kill home.

Which one has the best animation?
Either Sheer Cold or Fissure. Sheer Cold seems like it freezes the pokemon, while Fissure makes it clear there's no surviving it. So I'll say the later.
Guillotine was awesome in Gen. I and II, but in later generations it became unimpressive.

Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?
In Generation I, it was dependant on the Speed. Dugtrio was the fastest pokemon with access to Fissure, so there.
Scyther needs access to Guillotine.

Which one is your favorite?
Guillotine looks pretty deadly. But I'll say Fissure from Gen I nostalgia-- I mean, it's Giovanni of all people who gives it to you: I thought it broke the foe's bones or opened a hole in the ground and closed it or something.

Of course, battle-wise Sheer Cold is the best, with it being the only that hits all types.

Which one has the best flavortext?
Fissure. I mean, it sounds all, "YOUR TIME HAS COME". What's more awesome than sending your enemy into a bottomless pit?
Which one has the best name?
Guillotine. I mean seriously, GUILLOTINE. Slayer of monarchs, emblem of the French Revolution... how cool is that?
Which one has the best animation?
Guillotine, again. Very clean, and probably the only one that looks like a OHKO move.
Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?
Probably Sheer Cold, given that Walrein and Kyogre can learn it.
Which one is your favorite?
Guillotine, for all the reasons outlined above. Few times in Pokémon felt as badass as when I first had my Kingler pull it off for the first time.

Which one has the best flavortext?
Probably Fissure. That just sounds epic.
Which one has the best name?
Guillotine. Striking fear into enemy hearts.
Which one has the best animation?
Sheer Cold, especially on PBR. Frigid Ice Wave.
Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?
Sheer Cold.
Which one is your favorite?
Sheer Cold. No Pokémon is immune, and Ice is just really cool.

  • Which one has the best flavortext?
    Sheer cold.
    Absolute Zero!

  • Which one has the best name?
Guillotine, especially if you take note of its possible namesake.

  • Which one has the best animation?
Horn Drill, it's literally drilling into the target

  • Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?
    Sheer Cold.
Articuno + Mind Reader + Sheer Cold = Guaranteed hit.

  • Which one is your favorite?
    Fissure.

Name:
Guillotine > Sheer Cold=Fissure > Horn Drill.

Flavor text:
Guillotine=Sheer Cold > Horn Drill > Fissure. Guillotine sounds viscious / somewhat malicious, and Sheer Cold sounds as potent.

The Best: Sheer Cold
Sheer Cold can hit all types. So far as I know, Articuno has the most potent OHKO with its Mind Reader--it makes a 2HKO, I know. (Smeargle is the only other who can do so currently, and Poliwrath used to be able to.)

SO...
Which one has the best flavortext?
Don't really pay attention to that sorry
Which one has the best name?
Sheer Cold is best name
Which one has the best animation?
Fissure
Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?
Fissure, since Machamp had it in first generation. What better way to complete a mountain mover than an ability to shake the ground beyond comprehensibility?
Which one is your favorite?
Fissure, just because it's Ground-type.

Which one has the best flavortext?
Guillotine. Vicious and tearing and OHKO OH MY!
Which one has the best name?
Again, Guillotine. Wait for it...wait for it...SLICE!!! Off with your head.
Which one has the best animation?
Horn Drill by a long shot. Ow.........
Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?
Evidently, Articuno is a beast with Sheer Cold. However, since Fissure and Horn Drill were TMs Back in Gen1, they get my vote. Time for a toss-up! *Flips coin* Looks like it's Fissure.
Which one is your favorite?
To be honest, I don't have a favorite. If I did, though, it would have to be Fissure. The Ground-typing, TM availability, and the animation in Gen3 secure the vote.

For practical purposes, Sheer Cold is the best. The only Pokemon who can't get hit by it (aside from Sturdy pokes in Gens. III and IV) is Shedinja. All Abilities aside, nothing avoids Sheer Cold.

Which one has the best flavortext?

OMG, Absolute zero. Sheer Cold, for sure here.

Which one has the best name?

Fissure. Reminds me of a vat of scorching lava. Wanna fall in? I don't think so.

Which one has the best animation?

Horn Drill. Ouch. That looks painful, a light-speed spinning drill puncturing you? Yikes.

Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?

Sheer Cold. Articuno + Mind Reader = WIN. Gotta give credit to Fissure Mind Reader Poliwrath though.

Which one is your favorite?

Sheer Cold. The intensity of it, the pain, the fact that it cannot be blocked by Cursed Body, or have any immunities, wins it my vote.

All 4 of them are terrifying (and frustrating) when they hit you. D8; I like Sheer Cold the best simply because it doesn't bluntly say you're about to be murdered.

Which one has the best flavortext?- Fissure, because it sounds like the move is literally casting the Pokemon down into hell.
Which one has the best name?- Guillotine. It's the only one that really sounds like a OHKO-move.
Which one has the best animation?- Guillotine, because it scares the living daylights out of me everytime it appears.
Which one has the best Pokemon that can learn it?- Durant, because it can learn both Fissure adn Guillotine.
Which one is your favorite?- Guillotine, as explained before.

1. Guillotine - it's vicious, tearing. best adjectives to describe it.

2. Sheer Cold - sounds like a type of beer, sheer cold beer.

3. Never really seen the animation of horn drill, guillotine and sheer cold. So I'll be null on this.

4. Horn Drill probly, I don't really care.

5. Horn Drill - dying on a drill, slowly drilling your body til your insides are scattered. so gory..

Sheer Cold, as I love its animation and it hits Ghosts and Flyers.
