Five new Poké Lids announced for Kochi Prefecture in Japan featuring Ambassador Pokémon Quagsire

Pokémon Local Acts has announced five new Poké Lids to be installed throughout the rest of March in Kochi Prefecture in Japan. Poké Lids are donations from The Pokémon Company to prefectures, and along with events and merchandise hosted by Pokémon Local Acts, are intended to encourage tourism to various areas of Japan.

Quagsire was appointed as Kochi Prefecture’s Ambassador Pokémon in 2024 due to the region's picturesque rivers, through which, “one can easily picture Quagsire leisurely swimming.” The new lids feature Quagsire and other Pokémon in scenic locations around the prefecture. For example, the lid to be installed in Tosashimizu City features Quagsire with West Sea Shellos at Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park, while the lid scheduled for Kochi City features Quagsire and Goldeen playing on Katsurahama Beach.

Quagsire attended the unveiling ceremony yesterday in Kochi Prefecture, in its ambassador garb. When these lids are installed, there will be a total of 18 throughout the prefecture and over 400 throughout Japan.

Quagsire, Sobble, and Keldeo, to be installed in Niyodogawa Town​

If I ever visited Japan, I'd gotta find a way to see these in person.
