Frankly I think the new starter pokemon (for pokemon black and white), Tsutaja, the grass-snake pokemon, is the best representation of Florida.

When I think of Florida, I think of it's lush vegetation, warm climate, and diverse animal life (and Disney World :ksmile:). Tsutaja seems appropriate for Florida because when I think of snakes, I also think about the vegetation in which they live and the warm climate which they enjoy. Tsutaja also makes me think of water snakes, and so I think of the warm, clear waters of Florida. Besides these things, I think that it would be cool to represent Florida with one of the NEW pokemon.

Thanks!

I say Lugia best represents florida.
Lugia is the pokemon of the sea, and the sky, which florida is most famous for. Lugia has also been in horrible trouble before, such as being turned into dark lugia and having its child taken away from it. Florida has also had major problems, such as the oil spill around it, and its trees being eaten away by harmful insects. As such, I believe Florida and Lugia have a lot in common, and as such, Lugia is the best representation of Florida.

Octillary because Florida's about to get hit by a massive oil slick.

And a fainted Buizel and Psyduck.

Suicune, because it brings to mind pristine water and rich environments, which Florida has. Suicune is also very beautiful and popular, like Florida. Unfortunately, if Suicune were real, it would really need to visit Florida/Gulf Coast right now to clear out that oil :/.

I immediately think of Exeggutor. When I travelled to Florida when I was younger it was the first time I'd seen wild palm trees (real ones, not in a photo or on TV), and it left a lasting impression. I liked the variety of shapes and sizes that they had. I couldn't stop staring at them :)

My pick to represent Florida is most definitely mime jr. Why? Well, mime jr. reminds me of icecream. How does this relate to Florida you ask? Well let me tell you a little story my friend. I was about four when I took my first trip to Florida, and we went to sea world, bush gardens, and all that jazz. Do I remember any of that not a chance. The biggest thing I remember was the heat, and my fondest memories are of walking down scorching sidewalks to the little icecream shop near my grandparents house. Upon arriving here we refreshed ourselves with the frozen goodness that is icecream. This memory is the reason mime jr. best represents Florida. He also is fun and whimsical, which in my opinion, is the best representation of vacation, and Florida is a place of relaxing and vacationing. Hopefully on your trip to Florida you get some time to sit down and enjoy some icecream and vacation.

I'd have to say Totodile because first of all, its water! Florida has the best water attractions that I have ever been to. It's also surrounded by water and has a lot of beaches :D. Totodile is also a pokemon that I would expect to wear sunglasses and play in the sand xD He's very playful and energetic :) He's like a little kid on the beach :D

Bellosom. Florida has a tropical climate and Bellosom is a tropical Pokemon. Bellosom is also a good fighter in sunny weather, which Florida has.

I think Sunflora represents Florida pretty well. The sunny weather, everyone going there for a good time, and the playfulness of the state reminds me of a Sunflora.

Definitely Squirtle. Its laid back nature definitely shows the Florida spirit. It's even a water type and lives in ponds and on beaches, which Florida has lots of.

Also, this.

season 1 Episode 18 of the original pokemon: tentacool and tentacruel

the tentacools and tentacruel are mad because the people are ruining their enviornment, and with the oil slick, maybe while your there a giant tentacruel will come out of the ocean and smack a building down. Not the happiest metaphor, but you know...

Solrock since Florida is known as the sunshine state. Secondly, Solrock is part rock type which symbolizes toughness like their football team. Solrock is also calm and quiet but can be rough like the ocean and gulf near florida. Finally, Solrock has "mysterious" powers kinda similar to the bermuda triangle which connects to one of Florida's keys.

So many pokemon have things in common with Florida; Feraligatr because of the state's most famous animal, Tsutaja matches the everglades, Suicune with the crystal springs, etc.

But I feel the pokemon that matches the most would have to be Shaymin, the Gratitude pokemon. Shaymin are known to live in warm, lush climates where the color green abounds. Florida has often compared with paradise where its possible such wonders as the Fountain of Youth reside. Shaymin itself comes from such a paradise, the flower paradise despite the fact its the most northernmost location yet known in the games. Even the fact that Shaymin reverts to land form when frozen could be seen as a reference to florida. When the once-in-a-blue-moon occurance of a snowstorm hits Florida, the fauna and flora hunker down. No worse for wear.

I say Castform best represents Florida. If you've ever lived in Florida, you'll know that it's weather patterns vary tremendously. In winter, it can get down to 32 degrees Farenheit easy, even in south Fl. There have even been chances of snow up around Tallahassee. In the summer, there is always the assurance of intense heat, near 100 degrees sometimes. And of course the rain. If it's summer in Fl, it will rain. Daily. If it's Winter in Florida it will rain. Not daily, but it will rain. What about Spring and Fall, you ask? They don't exist in florida. Like Castform, it's either sunshine, rain, or nothing (possibly snow, given perfect conditions). This last "spring" there was a day with 50 degree weather (cold for Florida) followed by a day with 80 degree weather. That's as "Spring" as FL gets.

So, that's why Castform represents Florida. :D

I say Sunflora best describes Florida
I say so because it is sunny like Sunflora and because it is such a happy place like Sunflora a very happy pokemon

hahaha you guys are hilarious. I live in Florida, and honestly, its like a slowpoke. lazy idiots everywhere, warm beaches, expensive housing, money flowing in and out like a hooker. I guess it really depends, if you're on vacation, you're spending lots of money on the good things, such as a nice hotel and cruise, in which case it's kinda like an espeon, it looks beautiful, but is very different than it lets out to be.

jiggly puff
basically because its one of the most popular pokemon
in a lot of videogames
and it is ment to make money(much like florida)
and puts people to sleep and makes them relax(again much like florida)
becides who doesn't like baloons on varcation?

jigglypuff also was one of the 18 pokemon cards to be featured in the southern islands set(in the tropics like florida)

Florida reminds me of Slaking, because it's filled with lazy old people. Additionally, Slaking lives in a warm climate and enjoys lazing around and eating fruit, which is what many people do in Florida. Finally, Slaking has the strong build of a linebacker for the Florida Gators, an awesome championship-winning college football team.

there are some great replys but now its closed and ill say the winner soon
