Here's a story that was just sitting around my story folder.

I'm not really expecting it to be good, as it was just a plot bunny that bounced around in my head a few months ago.

This story takes place in America - the Yuunai and Kyuuda regions which are my brainchildren.

Fly

I was lying in the grass next to the Pokémon Center off Highway 89. Sitra, my Skarmory, was perched on a very low branch, right next to me.

"Hey, Sitra," I said to her. "Do you know how to fly?"
Sitra squawked and then shook her head. "I'd really love to go up there one day..." I said dreamily. I looked back up at the sky and caught a glimpse of a cloud shaped like a person riding a Dragonite. He looked so happy, as I imagined him, in the air.

I kept looking, and thinking, and I slowly lost focus of the whole scene. Then, suddenly, Sitra squawked at me again. I looked over at her, and thought she was trying to fly, and was calling for me to get on her back.

I got on, with my backpack, and she took off. It felt amazing. I looked down on the ground that we were leaving, finally having a chance to be free of looking up at things.

We flew through a cloud on the way through. I felt the – extremely cold – water on my face, and I loved it. Sitra seemed to like it too, as she was screeching happily. "Let's fly all the way to Rapsidy City!" I told her. She turned, and I suddenly felt like I was falling. But it was just an illusion – after the scare was over, it felt great again.

As we sped off towards Rapsidy City, I looked at all the land patterns and cloud patterns below. We were passing over a wildlife conservation area now, and I could see all the Manectric and Rhydon down there, playing and foraging with each other. The sky wasn't empty of wonders either. We climbed higher and higher, and it was getting to be about nighttime.

As we climbed even higher, it got colder and colder. By the time we were directly above Highway 67, it was as cold as some parts of the Hokuzei region. "Sitra?" I asked. She cooed back to me. "Do you think we could go a bit further down? It's freezing up here."

Suddenly, my Furret popped out and offered some warmth. I gladly accepted, wishing that I had brought a jacket as the Furret curled up on my neck and slept.

After another half-hour, we were above giant fields. We also passed by many tornadoes, but thanks to Sitra's expert maneuvering skills, we never got caught by any.

I looked up at the sky, which by now was completely dark. Now, there were lights above, and lights below. The lights above kept moving slowly as we kept on flying. I let out my Staravia, which flew behind us, taking advantage of Sitra's wind. I started telling it about the various constellations. "There's one up there," I pointed north, and the Staravia looked where I was pointing, "that looks like a giant Rayquaza, made out of the stars. And there," I pointed to another place in the sky, "looks like a battle between Groudon and Kyogre. And that one," I pointed due north, about 30 degrees up, "is the North Star. Sailors use it at night to tell them which way is north. The constellations Teddiursa and Ursaring both point to this star."

Just then, I thought I saw a real Rayquaza come from where the Rayquaza constellation was. It came over, and flew right alongside us. Then, a flock of geese came over and got in formation behind Sitra and my Staravia. We also saw Ho-oh and Lugia fly behind the geese. Then, the geese started shimmering, as if they were trying to "evolve" themselves.

They didn't change their bodies at all; however, now everything was going more quickly. I watched as Rayquaza did loops in the air, and Lugia shot water in the sky at Ho-oh, as if it wanted to make clouds.

This moment ended shortly, however, as we approached Rapsidy City. One by one, each of our visitors left us as we neared the patch of lights that were glowing in the area.

We finally reached the place we were supposed to, and Sitra started descending, going down, down, down...

I felt something bump my head, and woke up with a start. "Hey, girl," a man was saying. "Watch where your Skarmory lands next time, hmkay?"

I looked up. I was at the Rapsidy City Pokémon Center! And my head hurt...

I then looked at Sitra, who was collapsed in a heap about five feet away from the front door.

"Next time, work on your landings a little, hmm..." I said to her, and we both started laughing.

This is a nice short story. I enjoyed reading it, and thinking about what it must feel like to fly on a pokemon. :)

Lovely. I couldn't help but notice how well your sentences flowed together (this sounds odd, but the point was that I really like your writing style :3).
