For the skeptics~Piplup is offical

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....

Actually, I was getting use to it. It's cute.

It's about time we finally got a proper image of the name.

Now, the rest of the pogs plz.

Ok, I can deal with that. I'll change my sig accordingly and look forward to some great times starting with Piplup. Not that I could've suggested anything better anyway (seriously)...

Wow. Here we are waiting for Pokemon.com to confirm and Nintendo Power does it instead. This means that the official site HAS to update soon now. Also, we finally get mentioning of the return of night and day.

I don't understand all the love for "Rainguin." It sounds awful...

I like Piplup, it's much better than Pochama in my opinion.

I like Rainguin better, because it fits in nicely with the other starter's names, but I can deal with Piplup.

Actually, Piplup seems to fit better with Turtwig and Chimchar. All have alliteration.

I'm glad, but mainly for my own twisted reasons. I can now laugh heartily at the noob who insisted it had to be Pocchama because Serebii said so and that Serebii was always right.

I keep on thinking "Pimplup". x.o

Not that I'm complaining and cursing those who named it to a stay of a thousand lifetimes in Hell or anything, just mentioning it.

But, what does "Piplup" supposed to mean anyway? My suggestion for the English name, which was Pudguin, makes more sense than "Piplup". I sure hope Pottaishi and Empelt get named "Princuin" and "Empuin".

P.S.: If look closely at the screenshot that's on the same page that confirms the Starters' names, the text on it reads "Weavile used Metal Claw". Looks like the non-All caps thing is a keeper.

Cool, that really bugged me on the previous games. I actually went to the trouble of naming each of my Pokemon with only the first letter capitalized in Emerald, but that got REALLY tiring after a while.

But what confuses me about the non-caps thing is that in another screenshot in the magazine (I just got it today), between a Chatot and a presumably-wild Buizel, the Buizel's name is in caps, while Chatot's name isn't.

^that's weird.

I hope it's non-caps, who knows though until we get some more pictures/video of the english version.

And just by the by, could you perhaps scan in the magazine so we could all read it? If you can that is

ON TOPIC. I really like Piplup. At first I didn't, because I really loved Pochama. But, it's definitely grown on me.
