How old were you when you moved out of your parents/guardians' house?

27. My ability to be independent is limited. It's a shock that I've got to experience living out at all.

Moved out at 18 to study in a place far from home, however I still am financially dependent on family, sometimes when they are free of work they come and stay with me for days and I also go back at home several times when I don't have any university-related duties either. Which includes both big (2 week) breaks here (Christmas, where they come to my place and Easter where I go to theirs), as well as the summer break I'm currently in, where I'm going back for 2 months.

I moved out at 18 after finishing high school, had a nervous breakdown, and had to move back with my folks six months later. I doubt I'll ever leave their side because I help with the bills (along with paying my personal bills) and we all depend on each other. I see no shame in that.

I moved out just 9 months ago at age 27. I got new job back in October and had to move 300 miles (or about 480 KM).

I moved out when I was 18. After high school, my stepdad and I rented rooms from his ex-wife - not my mom - until we learned she and her boyfriend were blowing the rent money in booze. I moved out and found a studio apartment where my mom was living at the time.

I moved out about a week ago, at 17, although I'm still very dependent on my parents, for obvious reasons. I tell myself that it's only temporary because of school, as I don't feel like I'm ready to leave home "for real". I still visit during weekends, and I'm planning on going home on some of the less busy weekdays, because I struggle with mental health, and don't feel like being on my own so often.
