As any Pokemon who's been online knows, the Pokemon franchise undergoes a wide variety of changes when translated to other countries and languages. Some of these changes are welcomed, and some aren't.
First of all, let me just make clear that this thread is not necessarily for discussing favorite changes in other languages' versions of the Pokemon franchise. This thread is for discussing the changes you felt made sense for any reason, regardless of how much you agree or disagree with the change, or the reason for it. A few examples from me:
-Because of what Mandibuzz's original Japanese name can sound like when said in English, it got changed to Mandibuzz.
-Pokken Tournament becoming Pokemon Tekken in Germany because of "Pokken" sounding exactly like "pocken", their word for "smallpox".
-"Dark Pokemon" becoming "Shadow Pokemon" in the English versions of the Gamecube RPGs because the English version of the franchise has a Dark type. By the way, this is also the reason Pokken Tournament's Dark Mewtwo became Shadow Mewtwo.
-The "Evil type" becoming "Dark type" to remove the accidental implication that Pokemon of that type are bad. This change also was to help adhere to the "Pokemon are not inherently evil" message of the franchise, and it also helps confront that false notion that anything dark is bad.
So, what changes did you feel make the most sense?
