Watch the gif. Be amazed.
EPIC.gif

Note: Only works with older versions of Windows.

True story, I once broke into my uncles computer randomly doing this, trying to find the my computer icon, thinking if I can get in there, I can get into his files. Was worth it for the porn I found.

Honestly, I'd be more surprised if older versions of Windows didn't have such a gaping security hole.

Windows back then wasn't really known for its iron-clad security, lol. Just looking at that awful thing gives me a headache, though... people may've complained about Vista's attempt at "eye candy", but can anyone honestly tell me they want to go back to that? It looks terrible.

In those days I didn't really have any documents in much need of security, though. I rarely even bothered to put a password on Windows, as I wasn't the only one in the house using it. Now that I've got my critical things on my computer, though, and with the increased risked of digital identify theft and fraud that exists today, security is more of an issue.

I don't rely on Windows passwords anymore, though. I have a Goldkey Token (along with a partner Master Key) that utilizes 256-bit AES hardware encryption. Windows can't be logged into without a key inserted into the computer, and the windows session automatically locks when it's removed. Encrypted files and volumes are also inaccessible without the key.
