Suppose you watched a show as a preschooler or young child, but you have long outgrown it and have completely forgotten about the show. But somehow, that show reappears in various ways (morning talk shows, social media, media cameos etc.) and all of a sudden, your memories are jolted again.

In my case, there was a full-body puppet show called Johnson and Friends that aired in Australia in the 1990s but has not seen many reruns since. The series was about living toys, the titular character being a pink elephant, with supporting cast members including a water bottle, an accordion, a truck, a robot, and (obviously) a dinosaur. Since it went off-air not long after I started school, my memories of the show faded completely, and I've not thought about it for 25 years. I ended up rediscovering that show just a month ago via the Australian Millennials Facebook page, which frequently recaps shows and media from the 1980s to the early 2000s (including the Pokémon anime). Even with this jolt, I can only vividly recall one character (the accordion, mainly on account of their bizarre face) and details of one episode, which for years I assumed to be from a similar TV series from the United Kingdom that also aired on ABC in the 2000s (Rubbadubbers, which was stop-motion).

I can assume there are other forgotten shows from my preschool days that need to be jolted back in my mind the same way Johnson and Friends were. Has anyone else ever had a similar rediscovery?

Not so much a show but a channel. I used to watch Noggin a lot as a kid. It was a cable channel in the US primarily for preschoolers before it would transition to a channel called The N, which was primarily for teenagers.

But like. I never really watched the preschool version of Noggin. It was originally just an educational channel for kids 5-10 before it switched to showing only preschool shows at some point. I kind of remember this happening? Suddenly they stopped showing really cool science shows and started running Sesame Street reruns instead. As much as I love The Muppets, I wasn't really about that.

So for a very long time I thought I just hallucinated Noggin airing Really Cool Science Shows. But I'm kind of glad that people documented Noggin's first era at least lol.

Also, they used to have this yellow blob of a mascot I thought was really cute. Just recently remembered that his name was Phred.

Phred, the original mascot of Noggin just smiling and vibing

There was so much weird web/TV channel integration back in the early 2000s where so many cable channels would plug their portals and tell you that everything was happening online 24/7 and all. That just feels like apart of life now, feels so quaint thinking about it.

I saw an image of Maggie and the Ferocious beast once, it really surprised me since I usually remember childhood shows very well. But that one had escaped me, probably because I didn't watch it as much.

I kinda had something opposite happen to me too, I looked up Pingu once having no idea how popular that show was lol. Was not expecting all those memes XD

Recently I went down a Wikipedia rabbithole that led to me remembering that Willo the Wisp exists. It came out years before I was born, but I had a video of it when I was a kid, and remember watching it a lot. The episodes were short, and their stories were pretty basic, so I can't see it holding kids' attention nowadays tbh

When i was young i spent to much time on Nick Jr. And Disney Junior. Some of my favorite shows on Nick Jr were Hey Duggee, Max and Ruby and Blaze and the Monster Machines. While my favorite Disney Junior shows were Sheriff Calley's Wild West, Mickey and Roadster Racers and Jungle Junction

I remember Johnson and Friends! It was quite popular here in the UK, like so many Australian shows.

Does anyone remember a show called Big Bag? It was made by the same people behind Sesame Street (to the point where Elmo makes a guest appearance in one episode) and there was even a UK version, which I have more faint memories of.

It also included this cute series of claymation shorts called Koki, which was like Pingu but with chickens and ducks.
