Episode 1: "The One With the Competitions"

___________________________________________

A bright, crisp new morning dawned in New York City, a soft, warm glow filtering through the windows of the Café Lounge coffee shop as a waitress carefully fixes the 'Open' sign onto the glass door. Sliding the lock open, she wiped a smear from the window and smiled to her reflection.

A depressed Tyler made his way towards Cafe Lounge while grabbing a hold of both of the suitcases that he was strolling on the street. Sadly for him his landlord had taken the courtesy of waking him up early just to tell him that he was being kicked out of his apartment leaving him no place to go. "Morning," he greeted the woman that was opening the lounge. "I hope it isn't too early to come in."

Yuki cursed under her breath, legs crossed at a table in the cafe.
She kept redialling the same number into her cellphone, with no success.
"Ugh..."
Finally, she got through.
"Yeah, hi, where are you?"
She paused for a response, then frowned.
"5PM!? What! But you said you'd be here by 12 at the latest!"
Yuki slammed down the phone, then hastily smiled as the waitress brought her her coffee and muffin.

Yuki looked up, blushing.
"Oh, sorry if I'm making a scene."
She laughed.
"Moving guys are kind of a hassle."

"My building was put up for sale, so not entirely. You should see the graffiti I painted before I left though..."
Yuki smiled.
"I've just been informed I now have five more hours free than I intended, so I guess I should come up with some way to spend the day..."
She mused.

"Sure, sorry if I'm so cranky today. Moving is stressful."
Yuki said tiredly.
She blew a hair from in front of her face lacklustrely.

"Because I actually noticed the eviction notice on your door."
Yuki laughed.
"I thought you had too..."

Jackson was talking loudly on the phone as he walked in, dressed in a tailored suit as usual. He laughed at a joke someone was telling before hanging up and going to order a cup of coffee.

Emma had walked into the Cafe earlier then normal with a large plastic folder which contained papers inside. She was dressed in sandy chinos with a skinny belt, orange layered top, a blue stylish blazer, a brown hat and brown brogues. She walked over to the counter and ordered her usual.

"One Skinny Caramel Macchiato please" she asked. After getting her her coffee, she walked over to the group and sat down on the seats. "Hey guys, real early isn't it..." she said placing her folder down and sipping on her drink.

"We don't have houses to sleep in in."
Yuki said bluntly, couldn't keep up the whole 'depressed' act, and laughed.

"I didn't. I moved out, because my apartment was crap and overpriced."
Yuki said bluntly.
"He did."
She poked Tyler.

"Aww that's horrible moving, I remember how long it took me to settle down here and Tyler, hard lines" sighed Emma as she took another sip of her coffee and took her phone out to reply to a text.

"Wish I had my stuff, is all. On the plus side, at least I know the truck with all of it in is somewhere in New York..."
Yuki said sarcastically.
"Urgh, I need another coffee..."
