Forretress.
A surprise evolution that happened from nowhere at the end of Johto, and was picked by the writers to go to Hoenn with Brock.
He was always pretty silent, bar a "For" here and their. He also had a all knowing glare in his eyes, that sparked with youth and immortality.
He had about 2 actual battle, and those were with Cacnea (which he lost) and Bonsly (which he finnaly shone for once).
Now, with Brock leaving, his legacy is effectively dead. We can only watch as that damn Minomucchi is caught by New Guy, and proceeds to evolve into a souless Forretress clone. And the writers will have Ash constantly point out how "cool" this clone is, as he forgets about the wonderfulness of Forretress.
So, lest us not forget the smiles he brought to our faces when he appeared, and his unique and intricate view on life and philosophys.
As Marshtomp told me in a recent interview, "Well, considering how much Brock left us in our Pokeballs, I wanted to *censored* kill him, but not Forretress. He was loyal, and always sat waiting...waiting for Brock to pick him. He was a good guy, and was very smart. He was also a good family man as well."
Bonsly had other things to say, "WAAAAHHHH! ME BETTER THEN HIM! WAAAAAAH! KEEP ME, HE GO BYE BYE!" (it was at this moment I punched his little face into the ground).
Max told me, "Forretress? Who the heck is Forretress? Wasn't that one of Nicolai's Pokemon."
Yes, Max actually thought Forretress was owned by that abomination of a trainer, Nicolai.
So, we wish Forretress a peaceful rest, and a happy enternity in that big Pokeball in the sky.
Forretress' last words while he was on this earth were, "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known."
Good bye.
