Original report.

Former Marvel Studios CEO Avi Arad may have let a big one out of the bag when talking to IFMagazine.com. He says there are four villains in Spider-Man 3!

iF: There are four villains this time, Venom, Sandman, and Green Goblin and when is the fourth going to be revealed?

ARAD: Right we have four villains. Pretty soon [we'll reveal the fourth villain] I believe. Maybe around Comic Con we'll reveal something and the madness will begin.

Wow. Two more and we'll have a Sinister Six. So many options for villains, but for now, I'm putting my money on Man-Wolf.

What, are Spider-Man movies going to take a page out of the X-Men movies and become a game of Where's Waldo?

I... am not liking this.

Oh lord, what if it's the Jackal? *fear*

As long as they don't pull a Batman & Robin and throw villains into it who have no business associating with one another, that's fine by me.

I mean, why the hell would Mr. Freeza, Poison Ivy, and BANE team up with each other?

Same reason ANY of the Bat-villains team up: Because Gotham is a lonely city. And when you're locked in a cell, you form weird bonds.

I WANT LIZARD. Or at least another (longer) Doc Connors cameo. :-D

Wasn't Lizard already a big runner in the villain department before Sandman was confirmed?

I really don't see how they can leave the Lizard out of it after introducing Connors last time - that's BEGGING for it.

Yeah, I was thinking it'd be lizard also due to the Dr. Connors in Spiderman2. He also could fit in theme wise with people parker likes being turned into monsters (harry as green goblin, Dr Connors as lizard, and Peter Parker and the Venom suit), also it would fit for trying to remove the black suit... but this movie is really going to need to be long to work.. maybe even LoR long.

Right now I'm guessing Spiderman will get a suit and beat the snot out of sandman, but something will happen between him and harry to make a comparison about them both having an option to get a lot of power but taking the oposite. (I'm even thinking that Venom may be the main villian and harry will take a side role.. maybe even help spiderman defeat vemon in the end.. especially if it is going to be a final movie)

My guess: Vulture. He seems like the sort of random villain to put in this.

I'd say the Lizard is the most likely to appear. He provides that secondary or tertiary character slot that would make this movie an acceptable Pier Six Brawl. I'd also assert that they may use the Lizard as a dual role character...perhaps villain and hero? I dunno...I guess it could happen. I won't be seeing the movie, at any rate, as the idea of a skinny, short Eddie Brock just ruins the experience for me.

Again, that's not the movie's fault. Ultimate Eddie Brock actually looks quite a bit like Topher Grace.

And, so far, all the Marvel movies have been closer to the Ultimate version than the mainstream version. So...it's to be expected.

Eh...it's original Brock or not for me, I'm afraid. I never liked the Ultimate Spider-Man stuff much, anyway...

Not with Venom reportedly only being in there at the end as a cliffhanger for the next movie.

Or at least, that's the last report I've seen on it. I may be completely wrong by now.

Wow! Four villians! If they ever gang up on Spider Man, then he'll have a tough time.

Doesn't the guy Mary Jane was going to marry turn into a villain in the comics?

Yeah, he ends up turning into a werewolf

Man-Wolf, actually. It's...different than the werewolves in Marvel comics. And a whole HELL of a lot more complicated. There was talk of a Man-Wolf film at one time. But I think they realized how much of an acid trip it was and ditched it.

They might end up putting in a villain like The Spot, or some other obscure villain. Since they have 3 well known ones in Venom, Sandman, and th Green Goblin, I really hope they have a villain that's only known by Spidey-fanatics. =D So I'm hoping for either The Spot or Tombstone. But if they have to have a known one, then here's hoping for Vulture, Rhino, or maybe finally introducing Kingpin as an enemy.
