Here it is, everybody!

I found it in a box of books in the garage. And of course this means it's the last of the early CoroCoro ones I have. I know there's one to the fifth movie but for some reason I never bought that volume, and the sixth is where people started paying attention...and I think where they started doing FULL adaptations aside from the "ani-manga" ones with screenshots.

This is the same artist who gave us "NotJiri" in the failtastic second adaptation, but yet that doesn't diminsh the utter badassness that is the second panel here.

My question though--where does Vicious keep the dark balls in this version? Because those lumps on his armor seem to be part of the design, and when he calls out Tyranitar (what looks to be his only pokémon in this...besides Celebi of course), none of the lumps are gone.

Also, this doesn't get to the part where he turns traitor in the film, and since JJ&M aren't in this (shocker right? They weren't in the second or third adaptation either--the artist must not like them) he's got no one to blab to.

Notice also Sam is willing to die to save Ash not 24 hours after meeting him. Also apparently the reason the Hunter has an eyepatch is...well eew.
 
Why do the characters look so inconsistantly drawn? Ash looks like a different person in just about every panel.

If you saw the movie 2 adaptation, this is a step up from that. Actually this is MANY steps up from that.

Although I have to admit, Ghibli-style Ash is adorable.

Thanks for sharing, Blackjack. Such rare things deserve their place in my collection.

So, we know the mangas for movies 1-4 (though, first one has terrible qualitY), I have movies 6-9 on my bookshelf, 10 as watermarked chinese scanslation and 11 as clear Japanese scans.

All we need is a fifth movie manga. I bet no one here has it.
 
I got it out of CoroCoro when it was new.

I can ask on PKMNCollectors if anyone has the fifth one--that's where I got the second one (as horrific as it was. MY GOD NO). Same for the first one because that needs to be rescanned (I don't have a copy of that--I pulled the scans off a Japanese site that went down not long after).

Oh babe, I haven't logged into Bulbapedia for over two years. That's why my profile has things like "should there ever be a parrot pokemon". The coding went over my head no matter how long I spent trying to make sense of it, and then I forgot my password.

BTW, do you happen to have a copy of the 10th movie's manga? I've been looking everywhere for scans of the Rise of Darkrai manga adaptation to compare it to the movie. So far, all I've found is the first chapter in Chinese (which I can't read).
