hello!

just proving my avatar isn't a cropped naughty

Freckles!

everything else I'll post here is planned to be Pokémon-related though

thank you everyone!

is this colored pencil? i can’t tell for 100% certain! looks great though + welcome to the art gallery!
yes I draw with color pencils! what else does it look like?

and thanks!

Nice drawings! I like the coloring in pencil. Is that an OC of yours? Also, cute Spheal with a hat just because or is there some underlying reason?

thanks!

she's my sona (like in my avatar), and I'd just seen pilosophos' witch Crys before I drew the Spheal
I see! I had not seen that Crys, but that's such a cool drawing! Two times, also, someone really likes witch Crys!
I hope you aren't that exhausted anymore, by the way, though it's been a hard month for everyone, probably haha.

That spheal wearing the witch hat is so perfectly adorable I'm gonna throw up

✨✨
The way they're holding the little wand in their :3 mouth AHHHHHG adorable

"time to draw Clair in her canon clothes!"
two minutes later
"goddammit"
BAAHAHAHA I feel this so hard XD
I love her expression, and for that matter I love the way you draw expressions on all your art! There is so much charm and charisma in each one!!!

ALSO
your linework is so clean and satisfying I just
I just keep looking at your Spheal
Spheal is so so perfect. The lines are just...!
Spheal!

Clair in her canon clothes + more narcissism

thanks so much you made my day :bulbaLove:

faces are maybe the only thing I don't struggle with and need several tries before it looks right haha

Spheal!
Pokémon names are capped at ten letters, PERFECTION is ten letters, that's not a coincidence! :bulbaLove:

to be fair I just used Spheal's profile picture here as reference (and it's a good opportunity to finally start mentioning my references in the posts), I just happen to be alright at copying them right

in penance /j of Clair looking so different from her usual self, here's some actual Clair!

Clair just standing there and looking pretty

i'm cute and silly and you can't stop me

happy Freckles strutting her stuff

:lapras::slowpoke: Are you looking at the universe on its edge and seeing the wheel the because this is so beyond big cosmic galaxy brain insight this is PURE FACT!!!!!!! :bulbaLove::bulbaLove::bulbaLove:

"Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something." - Westley, The Princess Bride (1987)

Not even Westley and Princess Buttercup got their romance right on the first try, so don't worry about it!!!! Whoever told you that you had to get anything right on the first try while drawing was either selling something or falling for one of the classic blunders.

if Cyrus won he'd have ended up with a universe full of Spheals and nothing but Spheals

hehe I'm entirely self-taught so no one ever told me anything about art, good or bad

but I wasn't talking about "on the first try," I meant that I still have trouble drawing things even though I've drawn them dozens or hundreds of time before, I think I need to standardize my process haha... or maybe just understand it at all instead of winging it every time

so yeah, faces and expressions are the one thing I successfully learned to do right "on the first try" I think... plus maybe the shoulders and underneck area (which is good, since I love shoulderless dresses)

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Instead, Cyrus turns his determination to making Spheal Clicker, the Pokémon universe's first idle game

Ahhh I get what you mean! I totally feel you on this. Every time I want to draw something that isn't in my usual wheelhouse, I mostly end up just... staring at references  and never actually drawing it :stunfisk: (just hoping I absorb it thru osmosis?????? Idk)
But seriously :3
I think your faces and expressions and shoulders and all the shoulderless dress you draw are really great! And I think the hands on your most recent Freckles drawing are also great! I love how expressive they are

Planet Crafter Gardevoir New
testing if colored lines make the background more background-ish as opposed to black lines for the characters (reduced to 720 pixels tall because colored pencils are brutal to filesizes)

Gardevoir in a spacesuit looking at a collapsed space station ring on an alien planet in the middle of being terraformed

post-posting (hehe) thoughts: the landscape's actually the main character here, so making it "more background-ish" with colored lines was counter-productive, with the small-in-comparison/actually-the-NPC-here Gardevoir's black lines being distracting rather than making her pop as intended... in hindsight it should have been all black-lined or color-lined in my opinion

it'll be interesting to see the opposite (and actually intended effect) when I manage to draw one of my comic ideas, where the background is indeed in the background compared to the characters
