It's closely becoming that time of year again, as the beautiful people behind Free Comic Book Day have released their list of this year's giveaways.

From the bigger publishers:

Marvel
An original X-Men comic starring the X-Men and New X-Man Pixie.
A Marvel Adventures comic starring Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-Man and Ant-Man

DC
All-Star Superman #1
Tiny Titans #1 (think Teen Titans crossed with Muppet Babies)

Other noteworthy giveaways:
A Transformers: Animated debut comic
A Project Superpowers comic (love this series)
Shonen Jump Sampler
Sonic the Hedgehog #1 - Free Comic Book Day 2008 Edition

Full list of this year's comics.

I did this two years before. I got:

a Star Wars comic

"The Simpsons"/"Futurama" comic

others I forgot.

the animated comic is just a bunch of sceen caps with the words stuck in, basically just a crappy adaption of the first couple if episodes

the only one that interests me is the Xmen one, altough i hate pixie more than i hate just about any "super" hero ( that means you batman(who is my third most hated(after superman))))

I've never heard of this. Then again I don't think I'm near anyplace that does this. I wish I was though, itd be cool to get a freebie. Last freebie I got was the AAFES anniversary special Marvel did.

Teen Titans and Muppet Babies? XDD (I doubt many people here remembers Muppet Babies. :p)

I remember the Muppet Babies. I had the picture books when I was little. Not much else though.

I missed Free Comic Book Day again? That makes three years in a row I've completely forgotten!

Unless you're talking about last year, you haven't missed anything.

Oh, yeah, its not May yet. Sorry, sometimes I can be so scatterbrained. I'm off to mark my calendar for this year.

My city of 70,000 or so people has a grand total of two comic shops, both owned by the same guy, and we didn't get Free Comic Book Day last year. Hopefully we do this year.

Read that Tiny Titans comic already, it's cute. You know how your local paper has full- or half-page funnies on the weekend instead of just single strip funnies? Think of Tiny Titans in that style, as a collection of Sunday paper-style one- or two-page comics that lean more towards comedy than storytelling (the mere concept and portrayal of Slade as the principal and Trigon as a teacher is funny enough). It's quite obviously made for kids, but not bad if you're looking for something lighthearted.

Here you can find another list of the comics (a non-PDF file), along with previews of most of them (a few pages in PDF form).

And Geodude, I'm shocked that a comic book store WOULDN'T participate in this. It's such a great way to get new people in the store. Even if you've got a monopoly on the comics supply, you could always use new customers. Hopefully you'll get it, though. Ideally, everyone will. Because it's a good program.

I would get the sonic one. I liek anything sonic comic.
