Free Pokemon Games

My friend said that she found Pokemon Platinum just sitting at either her or someone else's doorstep, and she took it.

Just a week ago, actually, I found Pokemon LeafGreen on sale in a thrift shop. The owner knows my mom and I pretty well (they're friends, and I'm a friend of her son. I also happen to frequently volunteer at the store). I asked my mom about it, and I got it. Yay.

I didnt exactly get the game for free, but it was not part ofthe auction. I bought a DSi Pokemon Black Special edition a couple of weeks ago and it came with Pokemon Black. I also got the special edition leather carry case that had one of the mystery dungeon games in it!! Score! The best part of the whole deal was a whole mess of good and rare... and Legit!! Pokemon still loaded to the Black cart. There were a few hacked mons on the cart too and they are still there but it was nice that they didnt reset the game save. THe mystery Dungeon does not look like it has ever been played, it has not a mark on the outside and there are hardly any marks on the terminals.

While I didn't get it for free (by any stretch of the term), I did pick up a second copy of Platinum. Their save file has beaten the game, but I haven't looked at it all that closely.

My friend gave me ruby. He just didn't want it, because he had emerald as well. He also gave his copy of sapphire to my brother.

Kinda not the same thing, but my brother bought black 2 and white 2, and let me pick one for my birthday. I took black 2, since I played black 1. My brother beat Cheren and stopped playing, then let me have white 2. Yay for more games than I know what to do with :)

I had a co-worker outright give me an unplayed copy of White 2. She had gotten it for a friend and said friend opened it but then decided that they didn't want it. So they gave it back to her untouched. Since she already had a copy and couldn't return an opened video game so I ended up taking it. Been using it for storage space but I also used it to nab an extra set of the Creation Trio from GameStop.

That co-worker's friend would be a jerk.

About a year after FireRed and LeafGreen were released in the US, I happened to be at Kaiser with my mother and siblings. I don't know if you guys know what the waiting rooms for the children doctors look like, but we were there. Across from me was this boy (maybe 7 or 8) and his family. The boy had brought a literal box of Gameboy Advance games with him. And naturally he was playing on said Gameboy.

We went in to see the doctor first, and it took a while. After we were finished, we came out and I saw it. Underneath where he had been sitting was a sole FireRed.

Just there.

Being the immense Pokemon fan I am, I picked it up. I asked the other citizens in the wait area if the boy was still here, but they all said no. Then one man looked at me and said "Oh Well. Finders keepers eh?" with a smile.

And that is how I got my free Generation III re-make of Red and Green/Blue.

Someone once got a free Diamond and a DS.... when it fell out of my pocket in the bathroom at work and didn't notice until an hour later. -_-

My friend gave me a free copy of Pokemon Yellow while we were at school. I was happy... until I dropped it. -_-
It was confiscated. :(

A few years ago, me and my friend both bought GameBoy Colors, his was red, mine was blue. I wanted to surprise him by buying him Pokémon Red, but I couldn't find a good copy anywhere. So I decided to get him Gold version instead. I wrapped it up all nice and stuff, then brought it to school that day to give it to him. Turns out he had the exact same idea as me, and gave me Silver version! XD

Still have that game to this day.

The exact same thing happened to me with White (no DS) at the mall. Since then, I've become much less attached to my pokemon (especially event legends), as they can be gone at a moments notice!

Does getting them from family for Xmas/Birthday count? Wasn't me who paid ;o
