We've had Sailor Moon. We've had Tokyo Mew Mew, Precure, and Madoka. We've had a million anime featuring Magical Girls for years and years.

But how about Magical Boys?

Discussion points (you can add new ones!)
1. Do you think this will become an important change in the trend of anime industry?

Personally, yes. If I remember correctly, there's never been a magical boy anime. Even if there was a magical boy as a character (such as Sinbad from Kaitou Jeanne), they were usually supporting characters, and most of the time they weren't even remotely similar to 'magical'. If this becomes popular, we might be able to see more diverse magical boy anime in the future :3 And I mentioned below, but since this seems to be created with the female audience in mind, there will be more anime and such for the female audience - and they will be more out in the open. More (pretty) boys featured in shows, and possibly stretching out to more reverse harem contents, and even yaoi. They could join the major genres.

2. Target audience - who will likely watch it?

Anybody who likes it would watch it, but since this was probably created with the female audience in mind, it's likely girls would watch it. It's been the same for any other anime with a whole group of pretty boys in it, such as Free! - they were intentionally created for girls.

3. Possible speculations on the plot

It's a new challenge. I'm sure there will be fascinating new plots since this will be telling the tales of magical boys and thus will possibly offer masculine views even if they have similar storylines to a typical magical girl anime. I have to say, I'm rather excited and curious about this anime. I can't wait to see how the usual sparkly, frilly, girly atmosphere would fit with the boys. I can't wait for the transformation scenes

Wow, that's nice.

It's funny how this just appears, because I've been researching for a novel I'm working on. It's suppose to be a homage to the Magical Girl genre, but the main character is *gasp* a Magical Boy.

Oh well, nice to see the idea finally opening up. Let's see how well it does. Maybe it can give me some guidance into how to present this new idea of Mahou Shonens.

A magical boys anime? Huzzah!

This is a huge thing since guys, who are in magical girl anime like Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, Shugo Chara, and Kill la Kill, usually play second fiddle to the girls.

I have seen a few magical boy manga, so I hope that they might get an anime.

Color me interested.

No one has anything to say about this talking wombat?!

But seriously, this is interesting so I'll have to keep my eye on it. I'm curious to see if this will become a "niche" series, or if this is the beginning of a major shift in the "magical" sub-genre. Hmmmm.

So when do we get to see the angry fanboys? You know, like during Free!'s early days and during its second season's airing.

All in good time...............all in good time.

Unless it is actually terrible, then it is well deserved, and we will probably never see the idea of Magical Boys pop up for the next few years.

Otherwise, all in good time...............all in good time.

I saw the first airing, and I like it.

It's over the top cheesy and the plot is forced in a way, but it does include a lot of opinions from the boys' point of view, which makes it somewhat more fresh.

Also, that transformation scene XD

I'm surprised that I like it so much. Its over the top "love" theme is absolutely hilarious. It is pretty much exactly sailor moon just with boys.
I don't think the plot will go very far but its funny enough that Ill keep watching it.

I'm loving this anime. I love how the trio of sophisticated guys are the bad guys and they have a green hedgehog!

I can't wait for the next episode.

I watched the first ep of this the other day and it was fun! Say do we know the name of the pink Wombat creature/alien?

Just watched episode two and I think this is going to be a favorite of mine from now on!
I love how they handle the hidden identity issue. XD

LOL'd at the hidden identity issue XD And the boys (minus Scarlet) actually point out some realistic (and sarcastic) things about their being 'magical'

Also, the transformation scene for the student council o_O And they're not even embarrassed about it?? XD

Gotta love how everything is so over the top.

I still have yet to finish the second episode (work sucks) But I ended up liking this a lot more than I thought, I dont' think it's the first time there has been magical boys...I think, I feel like it's something that should've happened before. But I think this is the first one that actually treats it as an openly magical boys anime instead of just a parody of magical girls one, and while it does have its silliness it really does have a boyish feeling to it. So I actually really like it xD

The third episode was just pure LOL I literally exploded at the bathroom scene with Sulfur. His lines were just XD omg LOL

I love how silly the episodes are.

I'm caught up on the first two episodes, and oh my Goomy the wombat's flashback killed me. This show gives me life.

Episode 7 was a blast. Fanservice omg all the fanservice. They practically made it intentionally and I am going to say I loved it.
