Did anyone else follow this great series? Favorite characters? What did you think of the anime's ending today?

Favorite characters:
Um...like...a lot of people. o_O I'll try to list them all -
Ed
Al
Roy
Hawkeye
Gluttony (:D)
Hughes (I got him on a 'Which FMA character are you?' test.
His death upset me. ;_;

As for the last episode...well, I thought it was very bittersweet, but very, very good. Especially seeing as last week's episode had me worried ('OMGWTF! ED, NOOOOOOOO!' and the like).

And
Gluttony ate Dante.
I am SO amused. XDDDDD

I really can't wait until the movie comes out!

Oh yes, and Roy Mustang/Riza Hawkeye is LOVE.

I watched the first two episodes with the Anime Club at my school. I think it's pretty good, it has humor, magic, and angst. All in all, a pretty good anime. P.S. does the younger brother ever get his body back? (I don't have access to the anime anyway, so I don't care about spoilers)

Yeah, Al gets his body back in the last episode. ^^

FMA? I love it. Too bad I have been able to watch only the first 4 episodes. T_T Edo-kun is my favorite character. But I must say that Roy is smexy! XD And Al is the cutest thing. ^_^ I'm glad to hear he got his body back. Now I have the urge to watch the whole series.

I've seen the first dozen episodes or so, and I really like it. It's better than most of the other anime that comes out these days.

I love this eppisode, but I missed a lot of info on the last 10 eppisodes. I'm going to have to rewatch it subtitled or dubbed.
What exactly was that real world thing about on the other side of that door? And what exactly happened to Envy!? So much stuff happened it was crazy, and wow the ending was a shocker!

Bwa. Reviving an old topic because, for anyone who doesn't know, FMA came to Adult Swin November 6th, replacing Inuyasha.

So...has anyone else started watching it since? Thoughts? Opinions?

Ten-year-old Ed's voice in the first episode scared and amused me. >D He sounded all...hormonal. XD

Nice way to let out a huge spoiler. :P

Don't mean to bump the topic, but I didn't wanna create a new one when there was a somewhat fresh one that existed. ^^;

I've been watching the series since it's started in Japan and I fell in love with it. Watched it to the very end. Even after a year, I'm still passionate towards the series. Been reading the manga, waiting for the movie to be released. Quite a bit was changed when time came to make the anime.

Been watching the English dub as well. Somewhat impressed with how it's been doing. Heck, I've even got a comparison site up and running (and it's the only one for FMA around ^^).

And I agree. Vic Mignogna CANNOT do a proper Ed compared to Romi Paku. He's far too old sounding and just doesn't have the right stuff to be as emotional as her. :\

*Bumps thread* Sooooo...I just discovered that we haven't covered the dread shipping topic yet. >3 Primarily, I like Elricest (Ed/Al) and Royai (Roy/Riza). Though, I also like Roy/Havoc, and...scarily enough, I've been reading A LOT of Envy/Ed lately. :O Probably because I luff Envy and most of the Envy fics I find have that pairing. It's actually very hot.

...I can't believe I just said that about Envy/Ed. *Ded*

Hey - little request for info, guys.

At first I had thought the Transmutation Circles were just made up randomly.

But someone actually mentioned that all of the runes and drawings had actual meaning.

Can anyone point me towards a good site with the alchemy symbols listed and described?

Can anyone tell me what time Full Metal Alchemist comes on Adult Swim (Eastern time)? My friend has been trying to record it so she and myself can watch it (we've only seen the first two dubbed episodes, but we love it already), but every time she checks cartoonetwork.com, there's only a listing for Inuyasha. Any help?

~Roxy~

Saturdays at 12am and 3am (EST) are when the newer episodes air and Thursdays at 12:30am and 3:30am are when they play the encore presentation. And you gotta check the [adult swim] site (adultswim.com), not Cartoon Network's. :P

i saw last weeks episode with the lady alchemist who was stealing to save the city, but it didn't look like it, first they thought she was saving the hospital then it got knocked down, then a church, which suffered the same fate, (ed and al's expressions were priceless!) i like it already!

Yeah, I thought that was a good eppisode for a filler, but you'll find it a little fustrating later on in the series with the veiw few fillers it has because the main plot will be so good and intresting that you'll desire more.

The next two eppisodes have the second plot twist in the series (first being the nina story), so dooon't miss it! (Why does that catch phraise feel so, scarily familier...)

Is this a good enough anime to spend $50+ for the first two DVDs (first eight episodes)?

It is, but $50-60 is expensive...

However it maybe about right...($30 DVD1 and special metal box, $20 dvd2). I will say that the first 4 eppisodes are the worst in the series, but that's not saying much because it still is really good.

The series is 50 eppisodes, with 2 hour long specials (I believe), plus a move to come out this year in japan. I also hope they do a 13 eppisode ova to close off the manga, however if they do it'll definately be worth the perchase (and more).

Actually, it's $24.99 for each DVD. Plus shipping and handling.
