This thread is meant to be taken lightly, and regards all the funny little things you see in Pokemon, that aren't necessarily meant to be.

It was inspired when I was playing LeafGreen some time back. I traveled into Mt. Moon and I came across the girl walking in a square with her Bellsprout and Oddish. Her words were something along the line of, "This cave is so big, I can't find my way out of here". I put her Pokemon out of their misery, and proceeded on my way. I have this thing though where I read all their post-match comments, so on my way back to the front of the cave to go to the center (I'm cheap and didn't want to use my Escape Rope), I come across her again and "talk" to her. Her words were altered a bit, but she still said something along the lines of, "I'm lost, I can't find my way out of this cave!"

How depressing is that?? I know it's a game character but come on. She's walking around in a square practically all of her years. Walking in the same pattern, trying to find her way out of the cave. They could've at least had her stop walking in her pattern - but nope, she's still walking in that same box motion, looking for the way out, with no hope what-so-ever. And not only that, but I beat her Pokemon down, so if she runs into wild Pokemon, she's screwed. I lol'd when I thought about this.

Another thing happened too when I was fighting a Raticate. It poisoned my Pidgey, who proceeded to win that match. It just so happened that Pidgey grew to the next level because of that match, and was ready to undergo evolution. As a result, it evolved to a Pidgeotto while maintaining a poisoned status.

How miserable is that? Isn't evolution a huge accomplishment for some Pokemon? Imagine the day that you're finally going to evolve, life craps on you and you're poisoned while you undergo the evolution. Couldn't you have a birth defect from that? I thought it was pretty funny.

So are there any you guys can think of? I was normally gonna leave this to "game only", but then realized the show has a lot of things too.

Actually, I do too! While I was fighting some Elite Four person on Pearl, I sent out my Blissey and used Grass Knot on the Golem. xD The Golem went cross-eyed, and stayed like that until it fainted. I went back and retried it, and it DID do it again. xD

How's this? In Emerald, there's an Aroma Lady that says she wants a "romantic battle". She talks about her availability and so on. I wonder how it would be if I went and battled her with the female player?

In FireRed (I think), there's some girl who says this...

"I want a bright red bicycle. I'll keep it at home so it won't get dirty."

Um...okay, what the heck? She wants to spend a million credits just to have a bicycle she can look at? She doesn't want to ride it?

This quote stinks of defeated purpose!

Also, have you ever noticed that some people will start a battle with you, and after you win, they'll berate you for hurting their Pokemon?

Um, hello? You started the battle, not me! It's your fault, not mine!

Get off the pipe, lol!

But yeah, seriously there are some funny stuff in game logic in general. Still, for Pokemon it's funny, a lot of the conversations trainers give don't even relate to battling... makes me think there must be a law to challenging a trainer to battle in which you must hold some sort of conversation in battle no matter how awkward.

Another thing that is funny with pokemon is it's sorting algorithm of evil. Essentially you and your rival(s) are the only trainers in the region with potential to become a pokemon master because of how everything is conveniently placed.

A policeman in the battle tower @ d/p said to me after i beat him:
I'm actually not a policeman, I'm a uniform collector! XD

The best phrase in Red.

"I like shorts. Their comfy and easy to wear!"

One word: shorts.

Dx So true...so very, very true.

There is that one guy, Wally's Cousin's boyfriend who always makes me laugh. He says something along the lines of "Now that the boulder's gone. I can visit her anytime. Happy? You bet I am!"
I wonder how happy he really was when Wally left? Thjere was only one visible bed in the house after all. xD

That sign in Galactic headquarters is pretty funny:

"Make sure bed is unoccupied before getting in" or something like that.

Lol, those are all great examples. I especially identify with the radnom comments, and people chastising you for kicking their ass after they challenge you.

I was just thinking about that after playing LG again. There's a guy on the boat who tells you his Growlithe are his friends. He challenges you, and after beating him, he questions why you "harm his friends".
-----

I disagree about the shorts comment. At one time it was great till it got quoted a lot. I found an awesome comment though from the Hiker in LG on Route 12 (I think?). "Us Hardy guys always laugh, ahahaha". It's like the epitome of cliche. It was awesome.

There's also the chick whose stranded in the water because a Pokemon "bit her clothes off". Imagine how long she'd been stuck there. She must be a prune.

No matter how many times your pokemon lays an egg at the daycare, the old man always seems to be surprised. Not only that, but he never figures out where the eggs are coming from. Guess he and his wife don't have any kids, huh?

now thats something, don't remember it, but lol.

In FR/LG at four island the guy in the house beside the pokemart, I like because "Oh, hi! Here comes the braggart. What are you going to brag about today?"

And a male trainer on Seven Island:

"Lalalah... My pokemon, I send them out, all the girls scream and shout!"

The chancy dance guy after you dance: "Your all chipper now, lucky!"

One I liked in D/P: The farmer/hillbilly guys in battle tower when you beat them:

"It feels like you broke my barrel chest" or something like that

I laughed so hard at that xD I mean, you'd notice if someone was in the bed just by glancing at it.
Perhaps Cyrus just doesn't want anything 'happening' between his members.

Would you like to use Strength?

And I don't think they've changed it one bit from Red to D/P.

I think this is in the trainer tower if you beat a trainer in double battles in FR/LG (its something like this):

I think I'll go home and try on a costume

or

I think I'll go home and look at my uniform collection

still quite funny. Its one of the trainers you battle on one of the floors (the challange where the first pokemon you face are a shiny umbreon and a jolteon)

In R/B and FR/LG, in Route 3, before Mt. Moon, there is a Lass who challenges you by the words: "Eeek? Did you touch me?" Well, if I talk to her and challenge her from her rear or side, the dialogue fits, but what when she is the one who challenges me from the distance? How can I touch her if I'm at least 10 feet away? o_O
