Funny Story Thread

I didn't see a thread specifically for funny stories, and think its different enough from the travel thread to make a new one.

This one happened a couple days ago, please excuse the length as I tend be long winded. I always like to imagine extra dialog between my character and a lot of the random NPCs. Having recently read the Pokemon X comic strip, and playing as Brendan, I decided to imagine my character hitting on a lot of the random female characters and getting rejected. On my way from Mauville City, I of course ran into Gabby and Ty (two of my favorite characters from RSE), and after betting them I decided to make the phase I told them "She wants the D", which was surprisingly allowed. A short while later, on the next route, I ran into a female ace trainer. In my head canon, I decided that she would actual agree to date my character. A while later, after the Meteor Falls incident, I decided to look at the BuzzNav, and sure enough, Gabby was on. She stated that "After the battle Brendan told us the inspsiration phase 'She wants the D'. And then he got a girlfriend." I stared at the screen in amazement for a minute then just laughed for a while. I don't know if it was just a randomly selected line or if it was supposed to refer to may or what, but I consider it to be canon for my playthough now.

Anyone else have any funny coincidences like that happen for them?
 
More of an awkward moment, but this is what a grunt told me at the Weather Institute:

If we're allowed to include awkward moments (which were probably funny to someone working on these games), I got some:

In one of the rooms in Sea Mauville are some Teammates.

Teammate #1: I was teaching this girl how hard it is to be a Trainer!
Teammate #2: ...Blush...

What the hell is she teaching her in this room alone...?

Then I battled Delinquent Miley.

You can't tell me that wasn't intentional.

Artist in the Battle Maison: Release it now! Release the passion locked inside you!

Wot?

Then I was in Regice's Chamber trying to decode the message when I suddenly manged to somehow open the cavern without doing anything!

Apparently, the message I was decoding was telling me to stand still for two minutes...
 
Not sure if this applies, but alongside a Gardevoir(still have no idea where her mega stone is), I wanted to get a Gallade as well. Caught a male Ralts, and leveled it up to a Kirlia by the time I went through Victory Road. Only, I had no idea where to get the stone to evolve it.

Then I battle Wally at the end, and he hands me one after. I verbally said "I LOVE YOU!". Honestly, if I could have hugged him, I would.


Also, I felt a bit worried watching the opening. But then I burst out laughing when I saw what it was doing.

You can get Gardevoir's Mega Stone from Wally's cousin, Winona, in Verdanturf Town.

Even worse, one of the teammates said that they locked the room before giving you the key to the next room.
 
Here's something I found funny.

I wanted to obtain a Bagon before the E4, but I wanted to do something interesting. I traded a female Bagon over from my X file and bred it to my then Grovyle in OR and I kept the first hatched female. Later when I made it to Lilycove, I talked to the memory girl and asked he the memories of each of my team. For my Sceptile she said, "Treero was taken to the Pokemon the daycare and left with Bagon. The Pokemon fondly remembers that it was glad."

Me "........ :0"

(Seeing as I found that pretty awkward initially, my headcannon is that my Grovyle found the egg at the day care just lying around somewhere, took it back with him, and the hatching Bagon looked up to him as a father)
 
So, it was the Deoxys battle, and I'd already lost my best team members in the fight - including Rayquaza. I'd used a bunch of Ultra balls and Timer balls, and knowing I only had a number of turns left before I lost, I decided and said out loud:
"If this Timer ball doesn't work, I'll use the Master Ball."

Sure enough...it worked. Three shakes, CLICK. Which is funny because all previous attempts failed at 2 shakes max. And he was still in the green health, too.

So apparently, threatening to use the Master Ball is enough to make the game freak out.
 
I flew to one of my Berry Plots, forgetting that the only Pokemon I had on me that knew Fly was a lv10 Pidove.

It was also asleep.
 
On Omega Ruby I had my Roserade out during the Delta Episode fight with Wallace. After I used Sludge Bomb to take out Ludicolo, he sends out a Whiscash. A Whiscash. A Pokémon with a 4x weakness to grass.:rolleyes:
 
Did anyone notice the description of New Mauville? It says "It was once planned to have this building go down 69 floors, but these plans were scrapped" (Well, it doesn't say that, I just translated it from my german version. But it should be something similar).
I think 13-year-olds started working at GF...
 
This isn't a funny story, but it is a heart felt/bragging story.

I had decided to hunt down the remaining TMs I needed. The first one I needed was TM21, frustration, located in Pacifidlog town. I attempted to show the Pokemon fanclub's younger brother a few Pokemon I thought would give me the TM. None of the Pokemon I had shown worked. I decided to capture a new Pokemon instead, because surely that would work.

I exited his house and started fishing. The first attempt, nothing took ahold of my line. The second time, I had a bite. I pressed A and what followed was none other than a MOTHERF*CKING PURPLE WAILMER!!! My eyes had widened, while my heart started pounding harder than I had ever felt. Could it be true? It was. I had founs a Shiny Wailmer. This is only the second time I have ever found a Shiny Pokemon myself. I was estatic.

Not only did I find this beautiful specimen, I had also critical captured it with the very first Premier Ball I used (which by the way is my Pokeball of choice). That's right, I critical captured a shiny Pokemon.

For whatever reason, I kind of blushed and squeed over that whole thing. It definitely made my day when I came across it. I think a lot of the silly couple stuff in general has. In particular the Young Couple whose dialogue essentially was the girl echoing the boys statement of going to kick my butt to show off how cool he his for his girlfriend. It was so silly, and yet delightful.
 
Something that was pointed out on the Smogon forums. The Pidgeotite give to you by Mr. Stone and the Omanyte fossil picture on the wall might be a reference to TwitchPlaysPokemon.
 
Another one that's not so much funny as it is...strange...or downright dickish.

This old chick in the Battle Maison who says:

"My husband passed before me, so I'm finally free to live the life I want!"

What the actual hell?

This one. This is "getting crap past the radar" at its finest.

Various buildings in Rustboro were kinda funny too, because here and there were small banners with the Helix Fossil on them. I think GF has officially recognized the meme... still, it's amazing what a fanbase can do sometimes.

Then there's the Nugget guy in Mauville, and me, with the understanding of the in-joke about Nuggets. This had to be the weirdest one yet.
 
I cracked up when a ranger from the Mart in Sootopolis said about being shown in the BuzzNav: "Look! Right there! There I am, fleeing inside! In full color!" while the city was under intense rain/sunlight.

Well, Steven referenced Alain and MegazardX (anime), Archie's bedroom has a picture of him, a young girl and Jirachi (IDK who the young girl is, but Jirachi is a reference to Pokémon Adventures, where Archie as Guile Hideout tries to capture Jirachi) and now we have Lord Helix and Bird Jesus. I wonder if all of this is suggesting that the Twitch Plays Pokémon Universe is an official one in the Pokémon multi-verse now, as well as counting the anime universe (one cohesive universe aside from the 14th movie) and manga universe as other parts of the multi-verse...
 
I went to battle Wallace for the first time, and I tried every pokemon I had on me. Swampert, Mightyena, Swellow, Latios, and even Trevenant fail. With nothing to lose, I send out Groudon. 2x weak, 4x weak primal. Spammed Precipice Blades, and won.

After getting the Sharpedo and Camrupt from the female aqua and male magma grunts in love in the battle resort, I was looking for the IV Judge after getting some decent breeding rejects, and I talked to the Magma Grunt. He said something like "I'm gonna stay here with my baby!" and I was like "Bit quick to get there, aren't ya?"

I was in Wonder Trade, and I ended up with a Magikarp. I went and traded it back, you know what I got? A Magikarp.
