Good news everyone!

(well, good news for Futurama fans anyway) XD

Futurama is coming back soon with 4 new, feature-length movies. The first of which, "Bender's Big Score", will be coming to DVD on November 27th! ^_^

Also, Comedy Central will be airing new episodes of Futurama starting in 2008!

(the movie will be divided up and made into episodes, then it'll be edited, and extra footage will be added for the show - these episodes will be season 5 of Futurama)

I believe that depending on how well the DVDs are selling, and how well the show does on Comedy Central - they may decide to actually pick up the series for good.

EDIT: If this is a repeat thread, or if everyone already knows about this news, then just disregard this thread. ^^;

I've known about this...and thought it was awesome! YTV in Canada recently picked up the show, so it's airing on two sydication stations here now, it's REALLY popular! Not even Pokémon during the fad days got that far...

I had a sneaking suspision this would happen. It has been really popular here ever since it started on Adult Swim. I expected a Family Guy-esque return. Yay

Yuppers, known for a couple months.

And it's still totally flippin awesome! I can't wait!

This was news about six months ago.

Apparently, the newer episodes won't have as high a budget as the first four seasons, so they had to get rid of the full orchestra in favor of not-as-good-sounding but cheaper synthesizers.

Anyways, the show leaves Cartoon Network at the end of the year, so you know they're going to have tons of marathons between now and then.

Yay!

Marathons! ^^

I'll be looking forward to seeing those marathons. And that should hold me over at least until the first movie comes out. :)

Funny how the DVD is being released the day after my birthday! XD

Anyway, I recently bought Volume 1 and Volume 4 of Futurama (season one and season 4, respectively). The store I got them from didn't have Volume 2 or 3, so it looks like I'll have to special order those.

Cool! I didn't know the previous seasons had a full orchestra! ^_^

Although, that's disappointing how they will be using synthesizers now, because of the low budget for the new episodes.

Aww, I love the music in Futurama. Hopefully, it won't be that bad, and the music will still be pretty good.

And by the way, I've seen the trailer for Bender's Big Score! It's awesome! :-D

It's actually on YouTube, though I'm not sure if it would be okay to post the link here....

Lisa, it's fine.

And I know you like Pokémon dub music just as much as the Japanese soundtrack, so you shouldn't mind the synthesisers. The dub music, aside from the first three movies, was synthesised. The rest of the movies all used Japanese music. I guess the Pokémon makers don't like synthesised music in movies...

Okay. Thanks, Shane.

Anyway guys, you can view the trailer here:

Personally, I really liked the trailer.

It was awesome!! ^_^

And by the way, this was my favorite part.

Leela: "What's the secret of time travel doing on Fry's ass?"

Fry: "It was bound to be somewhere."

And of course, this line at the end was great too.

Fry: "Can I pull my pants up now?"

LOL. XD

That looks cool, and I'm definitely buying it when it releases (and all of them) but I'm thinking it won't be as good as I may like it to be. I guess I still think Comedy Central will screw it up, because I think they are a generally crappy network.

It's finally back!

Bender: Hasta la vista meatbag

Yep!

They're making a fourth season consisting of these movies cut up into episode format, with extra scenes and the like! It'll be on Comdey Central!

Don't you mean fifth season?

A new trailer? Finally :) Thanks for the link

i'll i know is i will be importing these from the states because the Australian release date is a couple of months after.

Hmm I'm surprised there's no UK release date yet, that I can find. I'll probably import each of the movies, then if they actually release a "series" boxset of the lot with extra scenes like I heard, I'll buy the UK version of that.

I really can't wait for this, the trailer was great

Real Holographic-Simulated Lincoln Is Back!

Don't you mean fifth season?

well if you mean in terms of television airing then yes... you are correct..
but if you mean production season then you are wrong.

20 days to go. About er.. a month or so to go before I have the dvd in my hands. I asked for faster delivery to avoid the xmas rush, but I have a bad feeling it'll turn up late. As long as there are no more postal strikes, I'll be less than sympathetic if so.

It's going to be so hard to avoid reading reviews and such, and even downloading clips cos I'll have broadband by then. Ohno, what bad timing. I don't want to know anymore about it until I'm watching it.

Oh yes and goruk, you're right about the production seasons. I thought for ages that I was Season Five when I was watching Season Four thanks to good old, er whatever tv.com was a few years ago. They insisted on having it in production order. It doesn't really matter anyway as these movies arent really called Season Five/Six. They probably will if they're releasing them a 'split into episode sizes' boxset after the movie dvds, and it will be labelled Season Five.

It could be worse, it could be like how the UK handles Family Guy. So confusing for my tiny brain.

They need to cut the Simpsons and replace it with Futurama. Something fresh at least.
