Okay, I dunno if this has been made or if the idea has been talked about but...
With the advancement of video game technology over the years I'd like to see a complete change in the way Pokemon battles are handled in the games.
Instead of just having the RPG-style battling where Pokemon just sit there waiting for individual moves to be commanded, why not have actual fluid battles like in Street Fighter or Mortal Combat...except not as graphic.
Each button could correspond to a different move and you would still have a limited number of PP but it would make the battling in the games SO much more fun! I mean when you think about it, the SF/MK format of battling fits perfectly with the Pokemon concept.
I mean simple moves like tackle and scratch would be primary moves and then more of the special abilities could be used with button combos, etc.
You would actually have to think on the fly and react more than calculate. Might not be possible on the DS, but perhaps the Wii? Battling on the Wii could be interesting too.
