“LADIES AND GENTLEMAN! WELCOME TO THE GAIA POWELL BATTLE TOURNAMENT!”

Cheers echoes throughout the large stadium. As it stood, thousands had gathered in Gaia City. The city was built by Powell himself in the Kanto region, infamous for being the largest city on record, easily holding the thousands there for the tournament with room to spare. As it stood, they were all together in the center of the city, a stadium; the largest in the world where battles would be taking place. The competitors stood in lines in the middle of the stadium. Each trainer had a partner pokémon by their side.

Before arriving, they had received letters from Powell, inviting them to his tournament and announcing a grand prize. The letter had told them there would be many kind of events. It also said for each to choose a pokémon to represent them in the competition, and to have that partner pokémon out by their side when they stood in the stadium on the first day. Of course any overly large pokémon like wailord were banned.

And thus it was that they all stood in line, waiting to hear what the first challenge would be. Amongst these competitors was a young girl of nineteen, her eevee by her side. Seeing all of the others and their pokémon she was feeling quite nervous, which in turn made her eevee feel nervous as well. It didn’t help the moment the speakers came on again.

“NOW LET’S GET THIS STARTED! THE FIRST EVENT OF THE TOURNAMENT IS ABOUT TO START, AND IT IS A BATTLE ROYAL WITH THE POKEMON THAT SIT BY THE TRAINERS SIDES!”

Cheers and confused faces erupted around. The girl with the eevee on the other hand knew what they were doing, and her face paled at the thought.

“FOR THOSE THAT DON’T KNOW; A BATTLE ROYAL IS WHEN EVERY POKEMON DOWN THERE WILL BE FIGHTING EACH OTHER. NOT TO MENTION THE TRAINERS WON’T BE ABLE TO GIVE THEIR POKEMON COMMANDS DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE STADIUM AND THE NOISE. IT WILL END AFTER A CERTAIN AMOUNT ARE ELIMINATED. NOW THEN COMPETITORS MOVE TO THE SIDES!”

Cheers erupted again as the competitors moved away. They went behind the wall to a special front area just for them. Their pokémon stood in front of them on the other side of the wall. Some even left already not daring to compete in the battle royal.

The girl while nervous and scared, trusted her eevee, and chose to stay in the competition.

( @Flaze; @Autumnbreeze; @Lucina; @Kimono Dragon; @Lady Macabre; @Kanon Shirogane; @Life; @Ravioko; Okay so just post your character going behind the wall, and what one pokémon they had out before. You can even interact with other characters some.))

Milla nodded, her beautiful eyes now determined, and defiant to lose...

"Yuuko" She said to her gardevoir, in a slightly stern voice. "You know what to do. Show them your strength, the strength I know you possess."

Yuuko nodded, with a solemn "Gardevoir."

Milla turned around, and right before she went behind the wall, she said. "I have faith in you." and stepped out.

With a deep sigh, Ian walked over to his trusted his Frosslass and gently petted her head. He still didn't understand the true meaning of why he was there, but he also knew he had to try his best and win. "Best of luck, Frost." He eventually said, pulling his arm away from the Pokemon. With this, he walked away to his respective side of the wall. His Frosslass did the same, but gave her trainer a lingering stare before completely walking over to her side.

Hector looked around at his competition and grunted before giving a cocky grin. "This tournament will be a cinch, especially as long I have you, Matoi!" the trainer said to the Scizor walking next to him. Hector's starter and longtime friend nodded her head, causing the mega necklace around to chime and resonate against her steel-plated body. The two of them went to their side of the walls and leaned against it, waiting for the first of the many events to begin. Matoi already knew that the best way to defeat her opponents is to Bullet Punch everything into submission. Hopefully it would prove useful in this situation...

Lili trembled at the thought of a battle royal. She was not a battler and neither were her pokemon. She petted her most trusted and gifted pokemon, the one that has been by her side since the very beginning. "Alright glaceon, this is obviously not one of the events we specialize in, but I want you to try your best out there. Don't try to fight out there, your not ready for battles yet and you will just end up hurt. Hey that's it, listen glaceon, I have an idea. Your not a battler but you sure of stamina. We should make use of that. When the battle royal starts, I want you to stay away as far back from the other pokemon as you can, and run around if they get close. If your being targeted, then just run around the arena freezing it. Trip the other pokemon off their feet. Make them not want to target you. Make them so tired of chasing and attacking you that they can't battle anymore. If your one of the last pokemon out there and you can tell the others are getting to tired to resist dodging, then feel free to freeze them with your icebeam. Your my smartest pokemon by far. You have a good memory. Anyways, I should probably stand behind the wall before I talk you to death. I wish you luck darling." Lili says helping out her glaceon in surviving out there.

A tall teenager, taller than most everyone, let his gaze bore down on his Greninja. He did not speak, however communicating with his Pokémon by thought. However, he knew the Pokémon before him could hear. Giving a nod, Nocturne stepped out of the stadium, knowing his Greninja was perfectly capable of demolishing the others.

Elliot was completely and utterly mesmerized by everything he was seeing. The stadium, the people, the tournament and his opponents, it was all something he had never thought to see in such a large scale before. "This is a great stage to be in,' he said as he adjusted his blue hat and turned towards his Charizard.

Once he heard that the first event would be a battle royale Elliot actually smiled, he noticed other trainers had decided to give up already and others looked like they were hesitant about it. 'Looks like you'll be up on your own Bob," Elliot said as he looked up at his dragon and smiled.

Bob the Charizard just looked at him curiously before pointing at itself. 'Yep, you," Elliot laughed before turning around. "I know you can do it and even if you can't win just give it your best," he said as he patted the dragon's shoulder and went to the back along with the other trainers.

He noticed a girl who had to say goodbye to her Eevee as she walked, causing Elliot to raise his eyebrow in curiosity. "Don't worry, they'll be fine," he said towards the girl while smiling.

His breath shaky with both nerves and excitement, Raven ran a hand through his hair, smiling softly. The Blastoise that had grown with him for so many years stood by his side, looking equally as nervous.
"Alright, Takihou, I know you're not used to starting battles - that tends to be Pelottente's job." Raven begins slowly, his voice low yet fast. "But right now, I need to pick the Pokemon that represents me, and that's you. You're my best friend, and I know that even if you don't win, you'll try your best."
The turtle smiled lightly, and nodded.
"So...um...well, you can do good at both short and long range. And you're good at taking hits. But...but if you take to much damage use Rain Dance, okay?" Raven continued with an almost parental like worry. "You have Rain Dish. It'll help. You know that. Uuummm...oh! And Ice Beam for any flying or grass types. If you find another water type just...um...I don't know. Use Toxic and wait it out? And-"
Takihou nudged Raven's boulder, an amused look in his eyes.
"Right...we beat Johto AND Kanto. You can handle yourself. Got it."
The duo stared are each other for a moment, but taking a brief walk down memory lane and wondering "how did a little goof from Goldenrod get this strong?", before Raven gave his starter one final thumbs up and a punch to the shoulder.
"Good luck out there."

"You don't know that for sure. See there," she nodded towards a group of guys using fire types, strong ones at that such as infernape and magmortar. "They are most likely going to team up on the weak. And an eevee is more susceptible as easy pickings than something like your Charizard," she explained to him.

"Hm....I see now," Elliot said curiously while scratching his chin. He was glad he still hadn't entered the back as he turned around. "Hey Bob!" he yelled as he and Midori entered with the others. He was able to get Bob's attention though, making the Charizard turn towards him. Once Elliot noticed this he smiled and pointed towards the Eevee, causing Bob to do the same. Elliot nodded his head before holding his fist out and putting it close to his chest to which Bob gave a proud nod. "Your Eevee will be fine.'

"While they might target your Eevee, they do not have a full background on your Pokemon. Anything could happen in a Battle Royale." Nocturne mentioned, his maroon blazer smoothed down over his black shirt.

"Picking on the weak... Truly pathetic." Milla said.

Milla walked towards Elliot and Midori.

"While others choose to abandon any chivalry what so ever. Do know that my Gardevoir would not seek to gang up weaker opponents simply to win." Milla said with disgust

Flipping her hair behind her shoulder, she she placed one of her hands on her hip.

"Very well... It's such a pain, but I suppose for the time being I'll aid you in your fight as well." Milla said. "Let their cries for mercy be our very hymn of victory." Milla looked at Yuuko. "Protect that Eevee's well being like you would my own." Milla called to her Yuuko, in a tone that seemed much less harsh and annoyed then it did when she was talking to Elliot and Midori.

"Now that's settled then, I'll give you all the honor of being in my presence." Milla said, with slight scowl to Midori and Elliot.

"I do apologize for eavesdropping on your guys conversation, but I think the eevee will be fine. By the way, my name is Lili. I have a glaceon who I entered into the battle royal. If I know my own pokemon well enough, she will feel obligated to protect those who she feels are helpless. And since my glaceon evolved from an eevee, I am sure she will protect her own kind." Lili says bouncing into the conversation with a slight smile.

Midori giggled as she heard Elliot's comment. "I doubt anyone here is sane," she told him. "Anyways thank you, but worry about your own Pokémon. There are those that will be aiming for your Pokémon as well. The advantage I have is my eevee is small and quick. You all have larger Pokémon and thus larger targets," she pointed out, looking at some of the competition eyeing their Pokémon. "Ah I'm Midori by the way and Ikusa is my partner."

Nocturne watched the stadium with sharp eyes, before turning to the group behind him. "My name's Nocturne. The Greninja's mine."

"I'm sorry for eavesdropping on your guys conversation. But I think the eevee will be fine. I have a glaceon myself. She will feel obligated to protect her own kind." Lili says with a slight smile.

(For some reason the site is not letting me delete that accidental dot I posted)

Raven stood just slightly set off from the small group of talking people, glancing at them wearily every few seconds before looking back out onto the field. 'Dont interupt them Raven. They're talking.' He thought to himself, shaking his head. 'They don't even want to talk to you of all people.'
He puffed up his cheeks and drummed his fingers rhythmically on the side of his arm, glancing at all the Pokemon his Blastoise would have to fight. "Fire types will be easy." He muttered under his breath. "That Greninja might cause a problem..and I don't know if Blastoise could bring himself to attack a little innocent Eevee or Glaceon...this is a bit more complicated than I assumed it'd be."

"How silly," Melody remarked. "Send out a Pokemon that represents me? This is a tournament, such matters should be irrelevant." Melody scanned the crowd, looking to see what her Pokemon would be up against. "Analysis concluded," she said as she opened a timer ball, revealing a tall plant-like figure. "Cradily, win for me."

Melody walked behind the wall, taking out a book titled "Rocks 4 Dummies" and started to read.

"Ooo I can't take the stress for much longer. It feels like it has been hours already but yet the clock says only thirty minutes as passed. I need to calm down." Lili says to herself.
