As everyone probably knows by now, Satoshi and Dent caught a Gamagaru and Maggyo in BW35 respectively. The two of them were shown to be working together, notably Gamagaru giving instructions to Maggyo.

With Satoshi having to leave some of his Pokémon in storage in order to be able to use Gamagaru, do you think that Maggyo will mostly be seen alongside and developed with Gamagaru, or do you think it will be treated more as an individual by the writers? Likewise, for Gamagaru?

Hopefully both as I'd like them to delve into the existing relationship between Gamagaru and Maggyo, but also see each pokémon individually interact with their trainer. Though I get the feeling that given the high number of captures for Ash and the limited screen time for Dento, the writers might just develop one or none of these aspects.

It is hard to say, since Cilan hardly showoff his pokemon unlike Ash. We barely see his Pansage and Dwebble, they usually take two to three episodes to appear at a time and most of the time they are just cameo. This goes for Iris' pokemon too except for Axew. The writer are mostly focusing on Ash's pokemons.

It would be very impractical to let them develop together - Ash won't always have Palpitoad, and it's unlikely they'll always be used in double battles. They could probably develop more in battles and bonding with their Trainers and teammates.

I think that development side-by-side is a dream that is probably not gonna happen because of the constraints on Gamagaru's presence on Ash's team being non-permanent as compared with Stunfisk's on Cilan's.

I don't think solely joint development would be possible namely because of the problem that everyone's named about Ash's rotation, but I also think completely separate development would be a waste. They were shown to be more or less friendly when they were introduced, and are from the same pond. Based on Palpitoad in its capture episode I feel like it may be a bit standoffish when Ash first tries to use it, but it does have already good chemistry with Maggyo. I feel like if we are likely to see joint development between the two it would be initially before they fully warm up to the group.

Something else I'm sorta questioning is how they're going to do development with Maggyo. It's a fish. We all know how Goldeen worked, and I know this isn't Kanto, but making a fish seem fun will likely still be hard. It was fine in water in that episode, but this show happens on land. Most of the time when we see all the group's pokemon they're sitting around food bowls. Even though it's not a water type and whatnot it's hard to picture one sitting around a food bowl, especially being a flounder and all and it sorta'll just look like a face sitting on the ground. Even though everyone's loving it because it's such a troll pokemon, I have my doubts about how they'll be able to write it well. I'm hoping they surprise me.
