...or in other words, Physical over Special.

Notice how there are 17 non-Uber Pokemon with 130 or higher Physical Attack, but only 7 non-Ubers with 130 or higher Special Attack? In addition, all the Psuedo-Legendaries are primarily Physical-oriented. And up until this gen, Physical stat boosts (Choice Band, Swords Dance) have gotten more attention than Special boosts. I don't even have to mention that stupid pink blob that defeats the purpose of using a pure special sweeper.

Why is it that Game Freak seems to value Physical Attackers over Special Attackers? Shouldn't they be equally represented, rather than Special getting the short end of the stick? I know it is getting better slightly in D/P/Pt, but it's still an issue.

It's easier for a young child to visualize a big monster smashing something with it's fist than it's laser beams.

2nd-ed. Physical is easier to visualize and imagine. You know what focus punch would look like, but what does hyper beam look like? That's not the best example, but you catch my drift?

Wasn't Special better than Physical in the 1Gen (even though it worked different then)? Spec. Atk is my favorite stat, but I've gotten a lot of high-Attack Pokemon lately . . .

Well considering that Blissey seems to have trouble with things like Nasty Plot Togekiss or Calm Mind Lucario.....

Also how is it easier to not imagine laser beams?

Besides, wheres the Physical legendary Pokémon :p

Aah, memories of the broken Amnesia and Psychic type.

Ho-oh and Groudon say Hi.

Two of how many? Its not as if the Uber metagame is physical oriented just because those two exist. I think the fact that the Legendary Pokémon are almost always special make up for the lack of special pokémon for the non-legendaries.

I get the feeling Game Freak would rather reserve that stat for super-natural beings.

Entei? Regigigas? But I think most of them have high Spec. Atk. Still, there are some Pokemon with "legendary" stats that have high Attack.

I've kinda seen it the opposite way.

Name the best type of all. Psychic, still. Maybe Dragon, but Psychic's far more widespread, both in typing and moves.

Name a move that lowers the opponent's Special Attack and does nothing else.

Name an ability that lowers the opponent's Special Attack when the Pokémon comes into battle.

Attack may have gotten more focus after Gen I, but I'd still say that Special is better.

I think they are restoring some balance. I saw that there was a lot of SP. Attack pokemon that were highly competative and now there is a swing to be more Attack pokemon since a lot of moves and such got split. I think there's a good balance, though I'm still trying to find better Defense walls that aren't ground or rock that I like to use. I'm sure that it will swing again when Gen V hits when it does.

Maybe it's to nerf the fact that Psychics owned wayyyyy back in RBY. But since Gamefreak has overdone it, I predict Gen V will have something for the special Side. Nasty Plot and the physical special split was a good start though...

Oh and Captivate has a fatal drawback though. It only works on foes of the opposite gender.
