• Hiya, everyone --

Recently we've been noticing there have been a few stories here and there that have been posted without content warnings. As a reminder, we ask that every work published in our Workshop contain content warnings, even if none apply (in which case, you can just mention that no content warnings apply). You can refer to a helpful guide on how to rate your stories here, but if you need any further assistance, please feel welcome to contact a Workshop staff member! We're here to help.

Thank you all for helping us ensure our community is a safe and healthy one, and for your continued patronage in our Library and Workshop.

Just a quick question, for all you Pokémon fanfic writers, myself included. Do you use strictly just the areas in the games, or do you add places that are anime exclusive, like Chocovine Town?

Personally, I use just game locations because I despise the anime.

Game locations, because my story is based off the games.

Always game locations. In my opinion, the anime is just a glorified fanfic and if you base your fanfic on it, you're writing a fanficfanfic.

No one who is writing an anime based fanfic should take offence to this btw - I've read some very good ones.

Meh, I stay well away from animé stuff. The closest I've gotten to the animé would be Pokémon Special Pikachu Edition (aka Yellow).

Game locations, I'm much more familiar with the games than the anime. Especially when the larger part of the fandom follows and regonises the games, being the main point of the franchise.

Game locations mostly, though small things like irrelevant towns have popped up from my imagination. I do occasionally use anime concepts, though, due to the mix-and-match nature of my stories.
