I came up with this idea after the Sevii Islands thread. There have been many locations in the games that have not appeared in the anime. Which is only logical since not every part of a region can be explored in a saga with limited episodes. Are there any game locations that didn't appear in the anime you would've liked to see and/or you think the writers missed opportunities with? Don't be restrained in your fantasies of how these locations should've appeared :D I'll start.

- Most of all, I would have liked to see the Battle Zone in the anime. DP was already very stuffed so I understand why it wasn't explored. But I think it could have made for a nice saga with Ash challenging the Sinnoh Battle Frontier.

- I always wondered why Mt. Pyre was completely skipped in the Anime. It's located close to Lilycove City so there could have easily been at least one episode taking place there on Ash and co's way to Lilycove. I imagine a nice Ghost-Pokémon filler or perhaps even a Team Magma/Aqua arc centered around acquiring the Orbs.

- Unova has lots of ignored game locations. Lacunosa Town did appear but they made it into a generic town to host the Junior Cup, while in the games I've always found it a very unique town. I think they could've made a great mini-arc around it, the Giant Chasm and Kyurem. Although Kyurem already appeared in a movie so it was unlikely to happen anyway.

Furthermore it would have been nice to see Ash and co. travel to Lentimas Town by plane and go to Undella Town by foot from there, instead of flying directly to Undella Town. Perhaps even meet up with Dawn in Lentimas and travel to Undella together or something like that.

Lastly I think BW missed opportunities with showcasing the bridges, which Unova is famous for in the games. I think the Tubeline Bridge, the Marvelous Bridge and especially the Village Bridge would have been nice to see in the anime. And let's not forget the Marine Tube, I think its translation to the anime would have made for some great visuals.

Kanto:
Pewter Museum - I think it could be used to tell us more about the background setting of the Pokemon Anime world.
Cerulean Cave - OK, I don't need Mewtwo to be there, but wouldn't it be nice to feature it as a mysterious spot for exploration, with rumors of other strong pokemons? Or even just use it as a training ground because it is full of powerful wild pokemons.
Vermillion Pokemon Daisuki Club - It is rather a specific random one, I know. But with hindsight, I kind of felt Vermillion City was wasted as it is rather a large city (Well, in fact I can say to any cities in the anime...). I kind of felt a very interesting filler story can be created with this place and with that talkative chairman of the club.
Celadon Game Corner - Don't worry, I don't need it to be a hidden Rocket Base (of course if they wanted to adapt that setting, I wouldn't mind, even that is just an once-off thing for TRio). I think it may be used also for filler stories.
Saffron City Silph Co. - Do I need to say more?
Cinnabar Pokemon Mansion - Another wasted potential. BTW, now that I think of it, even the job of Anime Blaine is completely different from in-game Blaine, what should I expected then?
Victory Road - Too bad that the places Ash went through before arriving at Indigo Plateau had became just some grass field and pavement road where everyone can arrive safely without problem. I understand from world-building POV, having such geographic roadblock is not reasonable, but still, can we had more during the period Ash journey to Indigo Plateau? Something like the group lost their way (as usual), and found a hidden tunnel which is supposed to be a shortcut to Indigo Plateau, they travel inside, and then... whatever it may happen. I think it shall be more interesting than just watching a Marowak samurai and torch passing.

I shall come back later and add on other more regions.

BTW, when I was replying this thread and thinking, I just realized the anime was wasting story building potential from geographic locations starting from day one. They dropped many many MANY significant in-game locations, but then oppositely add on so much other anime-only locations. Is this necessary? Rather, is it necessary to had the group traveling constantly, go to a new unknown place every single episodes? Is it absolutely impossible for the group to dwell in a cities/town for several days doing other things? Many of the large in-game cities, Ash and his friend just dwell in there only for one single episode. Why they can't go explore the cities/town, rather than going out explore the wild?

Santalune Forest for the whole group (I know we sort of saw Serena in there for a small clip).
Faraway Island
Sendoff Spring
Seabreak Path
I agree with above on victory roads, especially Unova one.
Relic Castle (was supposed to happen)
N's castle (totally wouldn't have fit with story, but the place is so cool)

I'm sure there are many more I can't think of off the top of my head. To be honest I like anime exclusive locations, especially when they are pretty areas, but I like to see the better game areas get visited.

-The Game Corners, though I guess the brief appearance of a slot machine in Sing, Purin! is the same thing.
-Tohjo Falls. I can see why they didn't want to showcase it in the first Johto episodes because G/S wasn't released yet in Japan, but wasn't one of the Kanto Battle Frontier facilities near there?
-Sky Pillar.
-Amity Square and that church building in Hearthome City.

N's castle, Sky Pillar, Sevii Islands, actual Battle Frontier,Geosenge, etc.

I like to believe that the Kanto Game Corner (IMO the best location in the original games) and Silph Co will appear when they wrap up the Rocket organisation... Wishful thinking? Probably.
