Way back in the day, when POL was a known project within Bulbagarden, we were encouraged to design our own sprites and levels for the game. Since then, for my own enjoyment, I have continued to create these walking sprites. See how many people you can recognize!

PS - I give anyone permission to use my sprites elsewhere, if you wish. However, don't be a jerk and claim them as your own. I frown upon that. You may also use them as the bases to create your own customized sprites, if you so wish.

How do you make these sprites?

Those are pretty cute, a whole POL thing would be a cool thing for nintendo to have on their site something like what the Yahoo Kids chat-room thing but with an added simplified battle system. Maybe linking them up with a toy or DS adapter toy like the tamagotchi things do.

It'd be neat. Though with the Wii out, I want a 3D onlineish game.

Edit: A long time ago there was a sprite guide sheet thing that had the basic images that could be edited.

How do you make these sprites?

I've basically been taking old sprites and altering them to make new ones with Jasc Animation Shop. Back in the day, they had basic sprites for people to use to edit to make their own. Just last night, I created the "Alma" sprite (

) using a clown sprite (

) as my base. Not much resemblance, considering clowns are supposed to make you laugh, and Alma follows you in dark places and liquifies people's flesh. =P

Edit: FYI, I do requests, if anyone is interested. So long as I don't get ten requests in one night, chances are greater that I will actually make one.
