GameChops announces Poké Ambient 2, a new Pokémon tribute album by Helynt — Releases for streaming on YouTube and Spotify this Tuesday July 7th

The folks over at the independent video game record label GameChops have announced the upcoming release of Poké Ambient 2, the latest work of Italian lofi and synthwave producer Helynt. This album features slow-moving ambient arrangements and interpretations of classic Pokémon music using a mix of gentle synthesizers, soft piano, and guitar, created for relaxation, studying, and quiet everyday listening.

This 14 track album revisits the first through sixth generations of the Pokémon games with a collection of remixed tracks of music originally composed by a range of Pokémon music luminaries including Go Ichinose, Shota Kageyama, Junichi Masuda, and Morikazu Aoki.

Poké Ambient 2 will be available for streaming via Spotify from this Tuesday, and will premiere free streaming on YouTube the same day at 4:00pm (UTC). As of the time of writing, there has been no announcement of which platforms specifically that the album may be available from for separate purchase and download, though GameChops has in the past supported a wide variety of different streaming and download platforms for their albums, including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Bandcamp, Deezer, and Tidal.

Helynt is a guitarist, composer, and producer, known for his lofi, synthwave, and chillwave remixes of classic game music, who has worked with GameChips on a number of different Nintendo-inspired arrangements. Their previous Pokémon works include the original Poké Ambient in October 2024; and Poké Tape 3 in July 2023 as part of GameChop's Poké Tape series, which spotlights individual artists and their unique perspectives on their favourite Pokémon music. Both of these albums can be streamed in their entirety for free via GameChops YouTube channel.

GameChops is a record label dedicated to video game music. Founded by Dj Cutman in 2012, GameChops was one of the first record labels to license and publish video game music on platforms like iTunes and Spotify. All GameChops remix albums and singles are licensed and offered for use under Creative Commons, allowing for their use in non-profit remixes, streams, videos, podcasts, and other projects for free when accompanied with credits to the musician and links back to the GameChops website. Poké Ambient 2 is the latest album released as part of GameChop's Mellow Mode imprint, which seeks to create music even chiller than typical lofi, removing traditional drum sounds and other punchy elements, to make it the perfect musical accompaniment for sleeping, reducing anxiety, and creating a focused atmosphere.
