As we all know Gamefreak does not only make Pokémon games but also other pretty fun games with the most well-known being Pulseman, Drill Dozer, and the recently released HarmoKnight. Taking a further look at these games we can see that Gamefreak loves to reference aspects of Pokémon within these games and reference aspects of these games within Pokémon. The most notable are:
-Pulseman's signature attack Volt Tackle becoming the signature move of the Pikachu-line as well and
-the designs of the Excadrill-line and the Klinklang-line taking inspiration from Drill Dozer.

Basically with this thread I'm hoping to find other cross-references between Gamefreak's games.
I believe I've already found a small one today while playing HarmoKnight: the cactus maracas and Maractus.

Who knows? Taking into account the Excadrill-line's and the Klinklang-line's design inspirations we may even find ideas for and clues to future Pokémon!

I believe Rotom's design and abilities are a reference to Pulseman as well, and I've also heard comparisons between Charon (who supposedly created/discovered Rotom) and the scientist from that game.

I love playing the Pokemon themed levels in Harmoknight. It's a really fun game as it is, but that extra content just adds to the appeal for people who play the game because they know it's made by the makers of Pokemon.

There also more references to Pulseman : one of the minor enemies looks a lot like Xatu (in the 2nd level I think). The antagonist is the leader of Galaxy Gang, which can be translated in japanese as "Ginga Dan", which is also the japanese translation for Team Galactic. One that can be more obvious if you played Pulseman : the Rival battle theme from Diamond / Pearl / Platinum has a part which sounds exactly like the first level's theme in Pulseman.

There are more & more references to Pulseman in Pokémon. there's even a Bulbapedia page about all the references : List of references to Pulseman - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia
