Hey. I just got a TI-84+ calculator (Silver edition), and I have absolutely no idea how to get additional games onto it. I've found some online, but I can't even figure out how to get them onto my computer, much less onto my calculator. Whenever, I try to open whatever "game" I downloaded, I get a message saying "There is no default application specified to open (whatever the file name is)." And nothing happens when I hook my calc up to my computer! I have a relatively new Apple desktop. I think I use Mac OS-X, but I'm not completely sure. So, anyone know how to go about this?

I don't have any experience at all with calculators, but I can hazard a guess on how you would go about it...

When you connect the calculator to your PC... errr, MAC, it should come up in the list under "My Computer" (The place were it lists your hard drives, etc. Or the Mac equivalent) It would probably show up as a USB Mass Storage Device or something to that effect.

After locating it (since it should show up), open it and I would just explore the folders that are on there and see if you can find a folder labeled GAME or APPLICATIONS or PROGRAMS or something similar and try dragging the game file you downloaded into that folder and see if the calculator recognizes it. Your computer won't recognize the file because it is a special one for the calculator.

If all else fails, read the instructions.

Aiyee, if you used Windows I could better help you, but I'll try my best.

I don't know whether the TI Connect software works on Macintosh or not, but try installing that. With it, you can right-click (or Ctrl-click) on .zip, .8xp, .8xk, and other TI-related file formats, and click "Send to TI device." (Also the device has to be plugged in.) The calculator should react with stuff like "Receiving: Operating System x.xx" or "Whatever App" if the software is up to date; if not, you'll probably need to surf http://education.ti.com/ for updated TI Connect or OS for the calculator.
