It is certain that many people play games at a certain time of the year, for whatever reason they have. For me, since the mid-2010s, I've done a round of the Jak and Daxter games in December (reaching the point where I named my Ultra Moon protagonist after Jak). It's noted that the first game was released in early December 2001.

Does anyone else have a story about replaying a certain game or franchise during a specified point each year?

Playing games that have lots of snowy areas on a snow day is fun for me, and Icewind Dale is my favorite game for that very season each year.

Spring usually gets me in the mood to play Pokemon and Fire Emblem, and when Fall rolls around I typically want to play fantasy games.

I can feel it take effect as I've been playing Pokemon more, and don't see myself wanting to stop anytime soon.

I tend to gravitate towards Animal Crossing around autumn/winter, and Pokemon during the spring tbh

Every New Year's Eve, I make sure to boot up Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the countdown. I've been keeping up with this tradition for a while now.

Beyond that I just play other games (ACNH included) whenever I feel the urge to, and it's not something I can predict

Used to be into Geometry Dash right around Dec 2023 and Dec 2024 (the former date due to the big version 2.2 release after 6+ years of no updates) but didn't get back to it last Christmas because I got tired of the "dying-over-and-over-until-you-win" play style; and also because I was into Pokemon at that point i guess
