I.E. the things you do over and over again no matter what version.
For me, I always pick the fire type in memory of my very first Pokemon game, Red Version. I that game ,I picked charmander. <3

So what do you do over and over again in pokemon games?

-I always have the box legend in my final team
-My starter is always the highest leveled Pokemon
-I EV train and soft-reset for IVs
-I always rotate between Pokemon during battles
-I tend to catch every different Pokemon I can in an area before moving on

I tend to use many many revives during gym battles or elite 4 battles.

The only thing that might count for me is never using the standard bird (Pidgey, Starly, etc.) as my team's flier. The only exception was when I found a shiny Pidgey.

I always try to have all my Pokemon at the exact same level. If I capture a new member I give it the Exp.Share until it have reached the same level as the rest of my team.
I always battle all the trainers in the game.

I alway's also choose either The Water Type Starter or the Grass Type Starter in the beginning of the game. And when I played the old games I always faced the Elite Four over and over again.

i always pick the water start and dont use it unless its squirtle

also i usually only lvl 2 Pokemon throughout the game since it'd be worthless to lvl em all since they're worthless for competitive play

Pick the starter I like, capture the first 5 pokemon I see, starter is power house, with another a few levels behind him (EXP share and double battles), go to elite 4, go to champion, fail, GRIND!
And then win.

I play the game with minimal faints and aim for none, if a pokemon faints early or more than one faints I will reload. I aim for perfection :)

i always keep the pokemon i used at the start of the game (the ones you use until something you want comes up) in my party box.

I never use them again, but they are there as some sort of stupid monument to helping at the beginning at the game. lol .O.

I always choose the Fire starter.

I always end up with a Geodude/Graveler/Golem on my team.

I always fight every trainer.

I will use Pokemon that no-one uses.
Ex. Stantler and Furret

Aw, I love Stantler! (Not so much Furret though. :B)

-I always have a Golbat/Crobat on my team. Don't know why, but I always use 'em.
-I (used to) always use the Water starter. I broke this tradition when I got Pearl though 'cause Piplup is retarded. I picked Turtwig instead.

- I always choose the fire starter in my first run through. Water starter in the next, grass after careful consideration if it's worth it on my third.

- I always try to faint every wild Zubat I see, just because they are that annoying.

- I try not to use any legendaries before the E4, but sometimes use them after

- I have to have a Milotic on my team

- I never have an electric type on my team for longer than two minutes, stemming from my hatred of Uberchu.

- I tend to use Pokémon no one uses for a long time, which is Furret currently. Furret is awesome by the way.

- I always start off with the resident bird (except Hoothoot for some reason), train it until it's fully evolved, then teach fly to a different pokémon capable of flying.

- In D/P/Pt, I tend to run from wild Bidoofs and Bibarels, because they're not worth losing PP's to.

Most of the time, the starter I picked at the beginning will be my highest level Pokémon until I beat the Elite Four (then I trade over all my level 100's).

When going through the game I tend to nickname every single Pokémon I capture, unless I don't plan on using it ever for anything.

Until I beat the Elite Four, I do not bother with Natures, IV's, or EV-training. However, sometimes I do soft-reset until I get a starter Pokémon with the nature I want.

I usually try to have a fire type, a grass type and a water type on my team when going through the game (however this was hard in D/P/P as the only fire-type ever was Ponyta or the retarted-looking fire monkey starter Chimchar).

My starter Pokémon must always have a human (nick)name. Not like "Fluffy" or anything. It must be a name like "John", "Jayne", "Dahlia", "Danny", ect.

Recently, I've been trying to keep all of my Pokemon's levels even, so I guess it's becoming a bit of a tradition for me. Also, I always start with the fire starter (except in Red, Blue, FireRed, and LeafGreen, where I would always start with Squirtle) and name my rival Asshole. And, ever since I first started playing, I would go to the Pokemon Center and heal my Pokemon before fighting a gym leader and after fighting all the gym trainers. Yes, even if that meant doing the gym puzzle all over again. :p

My only real "traditions" are...

- In GSC, and now HGSS, I always name my rival "???". I've broken it once, and named him Momo.

- I always keep an eye on any berries I'm growing. If I'm training, I keep a notebook with notes on where I planted them and at what time.

- My starter must ALWAYS be nicknamed. Others don't matter as much, but my starter has to have one.

Amulet Coin. Money. Max Ultra Balls.

Oh, and get Pokémon that never have the same main type.
And get a Marowak. Soon. Very. Need False Swipe.
