Gary and Dora's necklaces

Random question, and one that might've come up before ^_^;. But I was looking through some stuff a while ago and noticed that Gary, in his new outfit, has a necklace that looks almost identical to Dora's (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Dora).

Has any explanation been given for this? (like if that's the Sayda lab's symbol or something) Or does it just seem to be a coincidence or artist laziness?

If you look at Blue's updated outfit for FR/LG he has the same necklace as well and I believe it doesn't really mean anything but simply just something to go along with the updated outfit. I mean come on, that was a hippie necklace Gary was wearing in his earlier clothing. x;

I could be wrong.

I think it's a coincidence too, but it's just so funny to me, that out of all the things the animators could've drawn they have the same necklace on two people, for one thing, and who've actually interacted (presumably a lot), for another.
