That's what Pokemon is doing right now on Cartoon Network. They schedule it for inconvenient timeslots (either early morning or afternoon before school gets out), and I don't think (because I have an anti-CN and pro-Nick bias) I've seen much promotion for the programme. Worst of all, it is on a network that is losing to Nick by double digits, esp. day-to-day. What should happen if Pokemon wants to get back on top?

It really doesn't matter at this point. If CN ever drops it I'm sure Nicktoons will pick it up.

We're late in the shows history now, so of course its not going to set the world on fire with ratings like it used to back in 1998-2000.

I think Disney are more likely to pick it up rather than Nick, since Disney already airs Pokémon in most of the other countries (at least from season 11 and up)
But I doubt CN will give up Poké... they have no reason to do that

Remember we're talking about Cartoon Network here. Silly things like "reason" and "logic" don't apply.

I'm bewildered why that don't air new episodes on the Frisay night block alongside their other "action" shows like The Super Hero Squad Show and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. (At least, I think that's right.) Why shove it away in a horrible time slot like it's a dirty like secret or something? Especially since, as far as I'm aware, the concept of Saturday morning cartoons is pretty much dead now.

Saturday mornings died the moment TMNT 2k3 was canceled.

Cartoon Network Is god awful now. I hate that channel so much. They dug them selfs a hole they can't get out of. And I remember they use to show Pokemon Episodes from seasons one through five early in the mornings. But now they don't. Because they like to cancel shows that get awesome ratings.

Bahahaha! What n00bs! I just record it on my Sky+ HD box
...cool...

A lot of us, myself included, watch the show in ways other than watching the televised premiere. That doesn't mean that the U.S.'s premiere time slot isn't inconvenient and strange.

Yeah, now that so many shows are available streaming online (legally, I should add), putting a popular show in a good time slot isn't really that big a deal anymore. People will watch it whenever they want, if not on the network's website, then on their digital video recorder. The world of television in 2010 doesn't work the way it did in 1998. We're in the digital age, and things have changed significantly.

Exactly. There are a ton of websites that have full episodes. Well the network websites don't show all the seasons. It only shows the newer Pokemon episodes witch I don't like.

Remember that while it might unreasonable times for some, in other timezones it might work out perfectly fine. It has to switch, so that just one time zone doesn't get the good time slot for it constantly. :/

Here, it's on around 6am, but some people are awake to watch it then, where as if it were on any earlier, or any later, they would miss it and complain just like some of us are now. Me, I just record it on our DVR, and a lot of todays bigger Pokemon fans just tend to watch the episodes online anyway, mostly in Japanese.

I don't think CN will ditch Pokemon any time soon, and I think it would be a mistake if they did.

The funny thing is, they are talking about the CN channel in North America which airs the latest season while in England you are stuck with Battle Dimension.

Way to fail.

So what's the point of this thread again? To complain about CN USA for the thousandth time?

Yes, we all know that Cartoon Network USA airs the show at a sucky timeslot and yes, we all agree that it's annoying.
