Oh, I would think Nintendo would make a pak to put in the slot to play GBC games but I read that the DS doesn't have the software to play that type of game

The only reason GB/GBC games can be played on a GBA is because the GBA essentially has the GBC hardware built into the system. In the DS, there wasn't any room, so they scrapped it.
You should be able to get a used GBC at any game shop for less than $30.

Yeah I know I was going to buy GBC (15$) W/ Pokemon Yellow (15$) off of eBay but I don't have Emerald, so I'd rather buy that for 30 dollars =D
