These are all Pre-made Smogon sets, as I don't feel as though I can make a team from scratch just yet. This is a singles team.

186.gif

Politoed @ Leftovers
Modest
Drizzle
252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
~Hydro Pump
~Ice Beam
~HP Grass
~Perish Song

Notes: My Drizzle mon. I'm pretty happy with it. Hydro Pump hits like a tank. Perish Song is to stop sweepers but sadly usually can't do it because most of the sweepers I've battled against have been Dragon Dancers.

454.gif

Toxicroak @ Black Sludge
Dry Skin
Adamant
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~Swords Dance
~Drain Punch
~Sucker Punch
~Ice Punch

Notes: My physical sweeper, I usually bring him into a water attack. I can set up swords dance pretty safely due to his double recovery. He's pulled of a lot of sweeps. I don't have many problems with him. Drain Punch gives me even more recovery. The only problem I have encountered is his speed.

135.gif

Jolteon @ Choice Specs
Volt Absorb
Timid
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
~Thunder
~Volt Switch
~Shadow Ball
~HP Ice

Notes: This spot was originally held by a BoltBeam Starmie, until I found out that my team had a gaping weakness to electric. Jolteon had the same coverage and an immunity to electric. I really haven't seen much use in Volt Switch.

598.gif

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Sturdy
Relaxed
252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
~Stealth Rocks
~Leach Seed
~Power Whip
~Gyro Ball

Notes: My mon with stealth rocks as well as some much needed Grass stab, it's okay without protect because once rain is up it can survive at least one fire hit.

094.gif

Gengar @ Leftovers
Levitate
Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~Substitute
~Thunder
~Shadow Ball
~Focus Blast

Notes: Thunder had greatly increased his coverage.

641.gif

Tornadus @Life Orb
Timid
Prankster
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
~Hurricane
~Focus Blast
~Rain Dance
~Taunt

Notes: My new taunter and Hurricane abuser. I would go for his other form but this is going to be a team on my actual games. I might change it when ever BW2 are released in english. He also has Rain Dance to help me win weather wars.

The BW2 tutor moves aren't much of a problem. I have a japanese white 2.

Comments?

Removed Pokemon
395.gif

Empoleon @Leftovers
Calm
Torrent
252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
~Scald
~Yawn
~Stealth Rocks
~Grass Knot

Notes: My lead. It usually lives past the first turn. It can stop sweepers during their set-up with Yawn, forcing them to switch out. I haven't had many problem with it.

205.gif

Forretress @ Leftovers
Sturdy
Calm
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
~Spikes
~Toxic Spikes
~Rapid Spin
~Volt Switch

Notes: My Rapid Spinner, that's pretty much all it has time to do. I'll switch it to anything.

Singles or doubles?

if singles it's pretty good but those storm drain Gastrodon may be a major problem and drain punch instead of cross chop for faster recovery.

If doubles i would suggest manectric with lightningrod instead of jolteon and a ludicolo (for those darn Gastrodon) with rain dish, leech seed, giga drain and leftovers.

Re: Gen V OU Rain RMT

Oh yeah sorry, it's singles.

Re: Gen V OU Rain RMT

@Hawkeye ; Looks pretty solid all around. Disable or Thunder over w-o-w on Gengar. Shadow Ball over Signal Beam is usually better on Jolteon, but it's personal preference mainly. Choice Specs Timid Jolteon is an absolute beast and Jolteon really can't afford to take Lorb recoil or it just dies so quickly. Empoleon could be replaced by Ferrothorn since I don't really see it doing a whole lot as it is.

How does your team handle Sand/Sun teams?

How does your team handle Sand/Sun teams?

Oddly in the like 20 battles I did today on PO I only encountered one Sun team and no Sandstorm teams. So I wouldn't really know.

Re: Gen V OU Rain RMT

It looks okay for sand teams but I strongly suggest grass somewhere in there.
maybe aforementioned ludicolo... maybe not

Re: Gen V OU Rain RMT

Because of BW2 you can keep Drain Punch and Ice Punch so I would recommend it. Especially becuase Cross Chop seems to miss a lot even with its still High Accuracy.

This will seem weird but on your T Croak as well go Life Orb. That plus a S Dance will kill of Therians that have came in on stealth Rocks. Landorus Depending as it will have intimidate and take less damage from those rocks.

Thats all I have to say. Great Team

As good as ferrothornintheside is defensively I'd suggest a protect instead of gyro ball. Ferrothorn does have great potential with gyro ball but without curse he falls a bit short.

Also choice scarf politoed + rain + stab + hydro pump makes it an epic sweeper, (Actually choice scarf can make anything an epic sweeper) I'd suggest putting 104 speed evs 152 sp. def and 252 sp atk

Gyro ball is an Essential to Ferrothorn. Most Pokemon are faster and the Survival of it lets you hit people with a beast Gyro Ball. Leech Seed/Protect stall is almost pointless in the new meta game. With new threats about you can easily counter it out. Its better just to go on the offensive now with it. As much as a Sweeper as it is I have come in to to many situations where Politeod gets countered out itself by something with Dry Skin or Water absorb or something that is a wall that can easily accept Hydro Pump in the rain. Its better to use it just to set up rain and cast out Toxic or Perish Song to throw your enemy off. Choice Scarf stops all of Politoes Potential.
It does not fall a bit short? Gyro Ball with no Speed IV's is a monster. Falling a bit short is far from what Ferrothorn does.

oops. I was thinking doubles again.

ferrostalling like i suggested works best in doubles (with 2 leech seed targets) and perish song requres you to do a full switch out as well. In singles, Yes that would probably work better.

Your jolteon will make a beautiful sweeper with those choice specs. Good avoiding common weakness. Very well balanced. You have backup rain dance, taunt. Very good team all in all.
