If anyone gets a Generation V Pokémon, it won't be until after Shinou is over.
They've been very hush-hush about Generation V, and I suspect it's because they went so overboard with showcasing Generation IV prior to its official release. Not only did they give GenIV Pokémon to two main characters, but GenIV Pokémon were the focus of two consecutive movies made in Generation III - and even in the video games, Gonbe and Usohachi were shown off in Pokémon Dash and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, respectively, before Diamond and Pearl were even released.
By the time DP did come out, we'd already met something like 20 GenIV Pokémon. Clearly, Nintendo wants to keep GenV a little fresher - and frankly, I think that's a good idea. I know I'm excited about it.
