We all know that the Dream World didn't/doesn't have any 5th Gen pokemon programmed into it, meaning that their hidden abilities are currently unavailable in the BW games, and no one is sure when they will be released.

However, the recent Corocoro scans have shown us a new character - Akuroma - and he is interested in the latent abilities of pokemon. It is believed that he says something about a pokemon device he created. So, I'm putting two and two together here (and probably getting 7): could this device be something similar to the Pokeradar, but this time only shows up grass spots where a pokemon with a hidden ability is? Or something similar to that. Just an idea.

Do you have your own idea about how the abilities will be available?

Or even if they will be available at all?

While I would love this to be true, comments about getting the starters with hidden abilities from him would be awesome, I fear, it's not the case. I think he's researching the overdrive thing Kyurem's new formes do. The latent power they exude when enraged.

Re: Hidden Abilities in the wild?

I believe that they will be available to the starters and possibly a few other Pokemon, possibly the Gen 5 Pokemon who aren't obtainable through the Dream World. As long as it of course is limited to these certain Pokemon, then it won't affect the DW feature that people use to get the hidden abilities of older Pokemon.

He may also possibly use the method with Kyurem if Overdrive is a new hidden ability.

Re: Hidden Abilities in the wild?

The wild is unlikely, so perhaps he'll invent a device that give the Pokemon you've caught their hidden ability to replace their natural ability. The only problem for that idea is the abandonment of the Dream World irl.

Gen I-IV pokemon would still need the Dream World. This was more for 5th Gen stuff only as they aren't programmed into yet. Although, now that I think about it, the dex is including older pokemon so the idea wouldn't work properly (unless the device was programmed for Unova pokemon only, but that would be me grasping at straws I guess). It would have worked in BW though. :/

Maybe he invents an item that while being held gives a Pokemon use of it's DW ability.

I think only Gen 5 Pokemon would be able to recieve their Hidden abilities in game, so that people still need the Dream World, but I do think 5th Gen Pokemon will receive their hidden abilities in these games, think that they will be rare though so they wont be easily obtainable.

Nintendo can always update Dream World site in order Gen V Pokémon can appear. There's no need to make them appear in the wild.

I've thouhgt Gen V DW Pokémon would appear for Hoenn remakes. Coincidentally or not, back in RSE, there was a scientist in Devon Corp., working on a machine to see pokémon's dreams, and he said (at that point) he had not success.

They're not programmed into the BW Entralink, so unless they make it that BW can't get them and BW2 can (which would be unfair to say the least) I don't see that happening.

What do you not programed the abilities are in the code so the only thing that could not be programmed in the overworld sprites and that doesn't seem like a big deal.

If the overworld sprites aren't programmed into the game, then they aren't programmed into the Entralink which is exactly what I said. I never mentioned the abilities not being in the code. If they weren't in the code how would we have known about them?

And unless BW2 get a "different" Dream World to BW we aren't going to get them from the DW (not saying that won't happen, but it would be unfair for BW players who've been using the DW all this time to suddenly be told "sorry, you can't have the latest update to the DW" when you consider they'll share the same site).

... Dude I said the only thing them not being programed in could mean is there is no overworld sprite
You responded by saying No overworld sprites mean they are not programmed in.

Not a logical responce man. Not what you're saying wrong but those two isolated parts are really bugging me. Also I have a hard time believing they would program in DW abilities but not overworld sprites or they can't get around that.*pause*

HOLD IT! Didn't the chose to befriend a pokemon that arceus won have gen 5 pokemon as options. WHY WOULD THEY ALLOW THEM ON THE POLL IF YOU COULDN'T BEFRIEND THEM.

We also know that the Pokémon Global Link website will be updated soon for Black 2/White 2, so we could very easily just see B2W2-only Dream World areas with Unova Pokémon having their hidden abilities (as they could be programmed into B2W2's Entralink).

Well they did exactly that in the BW. So believe it.

This isn't a logical response from you, considering this thread is asking whether they could be available in the wild/via alternate methods - so they could get around that if they wanted to. I'm pretty sure Musharna and Darmanitan had their hidden abilities in the wild in the BW (yeah they had overworld sprites though).

You can't get Gen V pokemon from the DW on BW. Their overworld sprites are not programmed into the game and so they cannot appear in the Entralink. I don't care whether they were on a poll or not, they would have had to have them given at the pokemon center like the Mewtwo event or another way. They certainly couldn't have been gotten from the Entralink as their overworld sprites are absent from the games' (BW) data.

We also know that the Pokémon Global Link website will be updated soon for Black 2/White 2, so we could very easily just see B2W2-only Dream World areas with Unova Pokémon having their hidden abilities (as they could be programmed into B2W2's Entralink).

I'm not saying it won't happen, but it just seems ridiculously unfair to refuse people who use the BW games on the Global Link access to them.

@Zeb show me a source. The name of the poll was called vote to befriend a pokemon not "vote to get a pokemon" or anything like that. Searching the extralink bulbapedia article has no mention of this to my knowledge. I searched the beganing letters of program and overworld using ctrl f and there was no mention of this. Unless proven wrong my evidence involving the poll still stands strong as a Haxorus.

Well, as the Hidden Abilities are programmed into BW (just not the Entralink data) then people who still play BW could still get them second-hand from the GTS.

Also @Alphaphlare; the Befriend a Pokémon poll only had Pokémon from Gens I-IV as options - you couldn't vote for Unova Pokémon. Asking for direct proof is a null point now because the original website is gone, but here's a report from legendarypokémon that outright states as such.

Okay then he has a point then

The process of a machine that changes seems to good to be true

@Zeb show me a source.

It's a well known fact that none of the Gen V pokemon have their overworld sprites programmed into the Entralink. Yes there are one or two such as Musharna and Minccino with overworld sprites in the game, but the rest of the Unova pokemon don't. Whether you choose to believe me or not is your choice.

Well, as the Hidden Abilities are programmed into BW (just not the Entralink data) then people who still play BW could still get them second-hand from the GTS.

I still don't think it's a fair compromise if they choose to make them BW2 only. Although I suppose that it's likely to happen that way, since they need to create plenty of reason to entice people to buy them, and something that is exclusive would make sense. :/
