Gender question...

I know it seems like stupid questions, but I was wondering:

Having watch Marriland's video on YouTube on the Eeveelutions, he says, quote, "If your lucky like me you'll get a female Eevee and so you can breed it like crazy"

So, if I get a male Eevee then I can't breed it?

My next question is say I saved the game just before talking to Bebe and if I don't get a female Eevee, can I restart the game and start off where I last saved it (just before talking to Bebe) and will there be a chance I will get a female Eevee or is the gender of the Eevee predetermined at the start of the game?

Okay, here goes.

If you want Eevee eggs, then you either need a female Eevee or a male Eevee and a Ditto (which I believe you can get via Pokeradar).

Presumably, yes, if you save before talking to Bebe, you will eventually get a female Eevee. I think the male-female gender ratios are the same as the starters, so you might be there a while.

You can breed a male eevee if you have a ditto. You can restart from before you get eevee to get a different gender.

You can also find Eevee in the Trophy Garden, which you can just reset your game to change the Pokemon in the garden. The chance of getting a female Eevee is 1/8th, both in the garden and from Bebe.
